Prince William, 40, arrived at the prestigious university in September 2001 to study Geography and was accompanied by his dad on his first day.
He was photographed greeting hundreds of well-wishers who had lined the streets to welcome him to the University town.
William studied at St Andrews for three years and during his time there met his wife Kate Middleton, who read Art History.
Initially William was studying the same subject but later changed to Geography and graduated in 2005 with a 2:1.
Prince Harry’s former Nazi uniform shame will also be recreated in the new series of The Crown.
Netflix will feature the “native and colonial” fancy dress bash where he dressed as a member of Rommel’s Afrika Korps.

Internet Archive Celebrates 1927 Works’ Arrival in Public Domain with Short Film Contest
For the contest, vintage images and sounds were woven into creative films of 2-3 minutes. Many of the films were abstract while others educational, they all showcased the possibility when public domain materials are made openly available and accessible for download. “The Internet Archive has spent 24 years collecting and archiving content from around the world…now is the time to see what people can do with it,” said Amir Saber Esfahani, director of special arts projects at the Internet Archive.
The counsel from Creative Commons helped judged all 47 entries, with winners finally chosen “based on creativity, technique, engagement, and variety of content.”
The winning entries include “The Public Domain Race,” a montage of newly-uncopyrighted 1927 film clips and cartoons. And the honorable mentions include short films showing, among other things, 2023 filmmaker Sam Dody serenading a lovestruck silent film star from 1927 — and the story of why Mae West once spent eight days in jail.
But the big first-place prize of $1,500 went to Gnats Gonzales for reciting a poem that was emblazoned over the artwork and title pages of 1927 works that have finally entered the public domain. “… Let not kings nor selective texts decide what is known among you. Ignore the temptation of hippocampal decay. Plunge into the dark depths. And feel the warmth of mortal creation at its purest.”
That last quote appears over a 1927 movie poster showing a woman smashing pies into the face of Oliver Hardy.

Cash-strapped EV startup Arrival is laying off half its staff
For the second time in less than a year, electric transport startup Arrival is cutting staff. The company announced Monday plans to lay off approximately 50 percent of its workforce. The move will reduce Arrival’s headcount to about 800 employees. In the middle of last year, Arrival warned it was strapped for cash, and the company’s financial position appears to have become more dire since.
As of the end of 2022, Arrival had $205 million cash on hand. Following its latest round of layoffs and a handful of other cost-cutting measures, Arrival says it expects to reduce the cost of day-to-day operations to about $30 million per quarter. Critically, Arrival’s plan to focus on the US market – and take advantage of Inflation Reduction Act incentives – is contingent on it raising more money from investors. Provided it can secure additional funding, Arrival expects to start Van production in Charlotte in 2024.
On Monday, Arrival also announced a leadership change. Less than three months after taking over as CEO, former Marvel Entertainment chief Peter Cuneo is handing over day-to-day operations to Igor Torgov, Arrival’s former executive vice president of Digital. Before joining the startup in 2020, Torgov held leadership positions at Atol, Bitfury, Yota, Columbus IT and Microsoft. It’s now on him to turn the once-promising startup around. Arrival said it would share more information about its financial position on March 9th.

Chevy’s first hybrid Corvette leaks ahead of summer 2023 arrival
Chevrolet has inadvertently offered a peek at its first electrified Corvette. Fans on CorvetteBlogger, Corvette Forum and elsewhere discovered that GM briefly made the 2024 Corvette E-Ray hybrid available through Chevy’s online visualizer tool. The design mates the wide body of the C8 Z06 with the regular model’s exhaust pipes, and introduces minor cosmetic tweaks like new colors (Cacti green, anyone?) and model-specific wheels. The biggest changes, as you might guess, sit inside.
Images of the engine bay suggest the E-Ray will use the regular C8 Corvette’s LT2 V8 engine. As Jalopnikexplains, past reports have suggested this Vette will use an electric motor on the front axle to provide all-wheel drive. It might offer a combined 605HP. The absence of a charging port suggests this is a conventional hybrid rather than a plug-in, although a glimpse of the interior shows a button to control regenerative braking. You’d also see adaptive cruise control in the lineup for the first time.

The slip-up hasn’t revealed much about options. A ZER Performance Package will add Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, underside strakes and possibly carbon-ceramic brakes. You’ll have your choices of aluminum and carbon fiber wheels, at least.
Chevy briefly confirmed the E-Ray’s existence to CorvetteBlogger, noting in a statement that “the holidays came early” and asking enthusiasts to stay tuned. There’s no mention of pricing, but the visualizer said the hybrid would arrive in summer 2023. The brand previously said to expect the semi-electric Corvette next year, but didn’t narrow the timeframe.
This is just the start of Chevy’s plans to electrify its iconic sports car. A full Corvette EV is in development, and future hybrids are rumored to include the 800HP ZR1 in 2024 and 1,000HP Zora in 2025. Like it or not, the American status symbol won’t be exclusively piston-powered for much longer — not that GM has much choice when numerous states plan to ban gas car sales by 2035.
