Michelle Rodriguez Doesn’t Want To Resurrect Her Avatar Character In Sequels
Michelle Rodriguez has said she has no interest in coming back to reprise her Avatar character, Trudy, in a future film in the sci-fi series. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Rodriguez said director James Cameron told her that he was thinking about bringing Rodriguez back to the Avatar series, but she isn’t down to play Trudy again.
Trudy, a pilot who helped the Na’vi in battle by sacrificing herself, died heroically at the end of the 2009 original Avatar. Rodriguez said she told Cameron about potentially resurrecting Trudy, “You can’t do that–I died as a martyr, Jim.”
Rodriguez has been down this path before. Her characters in Resident Evil and Machete came back in future installments when they weren’t supposed to, she said, and she doesn’t want to do it again.
