Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Kieran Culkin reprise their ‘Father of the Bride’ roles in ‘SNL’ spoof
Steve Martin and Martin Short reprised their iconic Father of the Bride characters, George Banks and wedding planner Franck Eggelhoffer, respectively, in a spoof on Saturday Night Live.
In Father of the Bride 8, the titular bride, Annie Banks (Heidi Gardner), is ready to give marriage an eighth shot, but the Banks are understandably financially and emotionally drained. The parody plays with the premise of the classic 1991 Nancy Meyer rom-com and riffs on endless franchises. Chloe Fineman tests out her Diane Keaton impression as the mother of the bride, Nina, who became a Lyft driver to pay for the weddings and Kieran Culkin shows up to remind us that he played Annie’s kid brother all those years ago, and grown Matty Banks still talks like a child.
Martin and Short’s Only Murders in the Building co-star, Selena Gomez, popped in to name her price as a wedding singer ($1.8 million) rounding out the star-studded sketch.

Overwatch 2’s Wrath of the Bride excites me for the game’s future, but monetisation issues remain rampant
When Overwatch 2 was announced, Blizzard made a big song and dance about one key difference that’d set the title apart from the first game: PvE. The developer made a huge deal of the Story missions that’d come to the game in the sort-of sequel – and rightly so! For the first time, you’d get to take on Null Sector in the lush, vibrant Overwatch world. No longer would the game’s brilliant and complicated story be tucked away in animated shorts, comics, or weird ARGs.
But, at launch, all that was missing. Blizzard has let us know that Overwatch 2’s PvE content will launch, gradually, throughout 2023. It’ll be drip-fed to players as part of the game’s seasonal model, with new elements dropping regularly to give us a sense of this growing, shifting world the heroes call home. If you’re keen on seeing what all the unique hero talents are about, or how the progression system is going to work, or what all these supposedly replayable missions have in store, you’re going to have to wait.
Or are you? Well, perhaps not. The Halloween Terror event (which kicked off on October 25, and which runs until November 8) arrived with a new co-op limited-time mode: Wrath of the Bride. This excellent sequel to Junkenstein’s Revenge, a long-standing Halloween tradition from the first Overwatch, is a precursor to the much-promised, now-delayed PvE content in Overwatch 2.

I’m a bride – my wedding memories wouldn’t have been the same if I hadn’t incorporated one old-fashioned item
A BRIDE incorporated this old-fashioned item into her big day, saying that her memories wouldn’t have been the same without it.
Hannah Townsend normally creates fashion content for her over 12,000 followers on TikTok, but after recently getting married she shared her biggest tip to make the day memorable.
TikToker Hannah Townsend said that her wedding day wouldn’t have been as memorable if she didn’t incorporate disposable cameras[/caption]
Hannah said she gave cameras to each of her bridesmaids and one to a groomsman to take candid photos during the reception[/caption]
“I haven’t seen this anywhere else and it worked so well,” she said in the clip.
“We had disposable cameras but instead of leaving them on the wedding breakfast tables, I gave one to each of my bridesmaids and one to one of the groomsmen.”
Hannah said she wrote instructions on the back of the cameras, giving each person a job on which specific thing to take photos of.
“I put little stickers on the back so everyone could remember what they were taking photos of.”

Some of the jobs included photos of the cake cutting, the wedding party and professional photos.
“While the photographer was there, one of my bridesmaids was behind and taking photos on film.”
Hannah said the photos turned out “so well” and it stood out from other weddings she had been to.
She added that it was less expensive than leaving the disposable cameras out as they don’t always get used to their fullest.

The video received thousands of views and comments with people calling the idea clever.
“This is so genius, and the photos look gorgeous,” wrote one person.
“I’m a professional wedding photographer, 10 out of 10 recommend THIS!!! I would LOVE THIS!” wrote another.
Others weren’t excited about the idea of giving the wedding party jobs during the big day.
“Oh go, don’t give people jobs,” wrote one person. “My brother-in-law did this and I felt I missed all the special moments being pressured to take the candid shots.”
“Is it rude if I wouldn’t want to be in charge of taking pictures during a wedding party? I just wanna dance and chill,” said another.
More people clapped back: “Then don’t agree to be a bridesmaid. Groomsmen and bridesmaids are there to help and it’s common for them to have little jobs.”
