Eyewitness Talks UFO Pursuing His Car, Shines Beam of Light and Stalling It, Topanga Canyon, 1992 – Eyes on Cinema
A few intriguing and often unsettling cases from UFO history… First: a frightening instance of vehicle interference and human physiological effects in the presence of a UFO from 30 years ago. How about 100 years of anomalous encounters? Inside the Hudson Valley ‘Alien Invasion’ and Strange Theory ‘A Portal to another Dimension Leaves Area Exposed to UFOs’ profiles “the UFO Capital of the East Coast.” Britta Zeltmann shows how Pine Bush, New York, has gotten that title and made monetary hay out of the moniker. Another Eyes On Cinema video headlines US Government is in Possession of Alien Spacecraft Says Ex-NASA Mission Specialist Bob Oechsler. This 1993 interview summarizes Oechsler’s opinions—and reasons for holding them—concerning alien visitation, possible cooperation, and governmental secrecy. And writing for Military.com, Blake Stilwell reports that The First Air Force Pilot to Die Chasing a UFO Was Actually Chasing a Secret Balloon. Stilwell notes that the investigation of the 1948 Capt. Thomas Mantell tragedy was termed a “masterpiece in the art of weasel wording.” A worthwhile recap, though Project Sign’s follow-on was “Project Grudge” and not “Grunge.” (WM)

Rare 25-Minute interview with Vickie and Colby Landrum on the Cash-Landrum UFO Incident, 1980 – Eyes on Cinema
Nighttime road travel sometimes carries truly unexpected surprises. This vintage recording of an iconic UFO case certainly seems to demonstrate that. Curt Collins has researched this incident and comments on The Cash-Landrum UFO: 1980s Recording of Witness Interviews. Curt also provides a transcript of the conversations, additional context, and links to more interviews and commentaries. An earlier CEII case, this time involving vehicle interference rather than physical human injuries, is the one involving Cars Stalled during UFO Encounters in Levelland, Texas, November 2-3, 1957. Eyes on Cinema has witness interviews from this series of events; for commentary here, see Kevin Randle’s recent book Levelland. And Amy Bizzarri relates an ongoing series of encounters with Route 66’s Glowing Mystery Orb. Turns out that the Hornet Spook Light of Devil’s Promenade road in northeast Oklahoma has been described since 1881. As with so many of these road-related events, refractions of vehicle headlights passing through differing air densities is a favorite scientific explanation. But the local folks know better. (WM)

Air Traffic Control Recordings from a UFO Sighting Reported Simultaneously by 2 Pilots, Feb 28, 1996 – Eyes on Cinema
Some iconic UFO cases and personalities launch with an extraordinary case involving an aerial phenomenon and multiple aircraft between Ohio and Saginaw, Michigan. This occurrence deserves more notice than it has heretofore received. Sgt. Russell Yokum Recorded the Sound of a UFO Hovering over the Columbia River, St Helens, OR, 1981, is also courtesy of Eyes on Cinema we’re able to hear it. Similarly, we’re “there” as Woodrow Derenberger Talks about His 1966 UFO Sighting & Encounter with a Humanoid Named Indrid Cold. Rich Reynolds has more on this and a pertinent comments link in Listen to This Account of a 1966 Event That Examples Jose Caravaca’s Distortion Theory. Whatever we make of anecdotal tales like Derenberger’s, Prof. James E. McDonald Talks Physical Evidence of UFOs and the Lack of Scientific Importance, 1967 makes a passionate case for UFO studies. Maybe it’s seriously being heeded, 55 years later. (WM)
