I DIYed a chic coffee table centerpiece with Dollar Tree buys – they make a big impact & would be great for weddings too

Rob (@onthecheaptip) shared the simple DIY with over 200,000 TikTok followers.
The self-proclaimed “Dollar Tree MacGyver” explained that he needed a centerpiece for his coffee table.
He headed off to the Dollar Tree to pick up supplies for his project — two glass bowls, a tall glass and a small glass.
“I started by turning the glasses over and applying industrial glue to the bottom and placing the bowls onto the glue,” he said.
“Once the glue was set, I added Dollar Tree river rocks and pillar candles to create this. Chic glass candle holders that were simple to make yet make a big impact on any table.”
He added that with the glass bowls, real candles were safe to use as well as LED candles.
Rob added that the DIY was perfect for events and was an easy cost-effective way to jazz up special moments.
“This is a great idea for wedding or party centerpieces,” he said.
The decorations, he explained, could be swapped out to match whatever occasion you need it for.
“I’m putting together a Valentine’s Day-themed engagement party for my daughter and this will be perfect with pinks and reds and white,” said one commenter.
“You can also add heart confetti or glitter to the glass!” Rob suggested.
“Cute idea! And love love that table!” said another commenter.

Crowdfunding platform Buy Me a Coffee removes far-right influencers and QAnon accounts
Buy Me a Coffee, an online crowdfunding service for creators, has immediately reacted to a new report showing how far-right influencers were raising money on its platform.
Dozens of influential figures in the QAnon conspiracy community have been banned from the Buy Me a Coffee platform, which allows users to drop one-off payments as well as recurring subscriptions in order to support their favorite creators. Other prominent online right-wing figures, including some of those who took part in the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol, have also been suspended from the platform.
The move from Buy Me a Coffee comes in response to a new report from Media Matters for America that detailed some of the largest QAnon figures on the platform. QAnon is a far right-wing conspiracy theory whose followers believe that former President Donald Trump is fighting a secret war against a globalist cabal of baby-eating human-traffickers made up of Hollywood elites and Trump’s political enemies. QAnon believers became increasingly violent over the years, prompting warnings from the FBI. Many social media platforms, like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, banned QAnon content over the past few years. (Twitter has since allowed many formerly suspended QAnon users back on the platform under its new owner, Elon Musk.)
According to Media Matters, some of the QAnon figures that were using Buy Me a Coffee include Charlie Freak, Liz Crokin, and RedPill78. Other far-right figures found in the report include Patrick Casey and Baked Alaska. The more than two dozen accounts in Media Matters’ report, including the ones just mentioned, have all been removed from the Buy Me a Coffee platform.
In total, these far-right accounts had raised close to $200,000 through Buy Me a Coffee before they were removed.
“We strongly condemn hate groups and have a moderation team who take them down on a daily basis, even before they make any money,” said Buy Me a Coffee CEO Jijo Sunny in a statement provided to Media Matters. “This is sometimes overridden when people pretend to be someone else to raise money. We will continue to be extra cautious and take action as soon as it’s noticed or reported.”

Creating the Perfect Blend of Storytelling in Coffee Talk Episode 2
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly review: more sweet tales from the fantasy café
Back in the mists of time (January 2020), I was absolutely transfixed by a Japanese novel called Before The Coffee Gets Cold. It’s about a small, cosy café where customers can travel back in time by sitting in a very particular chair, for the length of time it takes for a cup of coffee to go cold. It’s not long by any means, but it affords its cast of regulars the chance to get some closure on an issue that’s often been plaguing them throughout their lives. It’s heart-warming, soppy stuff, but very feel-good. That January was also about the same time I slurped up every last episode of Midnight Diner on Netflix, where a chill Japanese man known only as The Master serves up delicious looking dishes in a tiny, 10-person izakaya from midnight onwards. Put these two things together, and it’s probably no surprise that I liked the original Coffee Talk more than most.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a continuation of that story, set three years later in the same, alternate version of Seattle where elves, werewolves, orcs, mermaids and other fantastical creatures all rub shoulders as city-dwelling citizens in need of a good cuppa. Once again, you play as the owner of the titular late-night coffee shop, brewing up a multitude of exotic hot drinks that you’ll need to match to each customer’s request that night as they tell you their woes.
