Street Fighter 6 YouTubers covering new gameplay footage hit by copyright strikes
Content creators on YouTube are having Street Fighter 6 videos taken down, placing strikes on multiple channels that feature footage from a pay-per-view tournament showcase.
This showcase had gameplay of several characters that people hadn’t seen in action yet, including Blanka, Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and JP. Fighting game content creators who were eager to dissect the special moves, combos, and supers that were shown off, were quick to create video content only to be slapped down with a channel strike.
For those who don’t know, copyright channel strikes on YouTube are a serious deal! One can be scary enough as a permanent marker on your platform, however three strikes within 90 days results in the permanent removal of your channel from the website. For those just archiving footage this may not be the end of the world, but for full-time content creators with thousands of subscribers, this is essentially the sudden destruction of a lot of hard work.

‘Glass Onion’ almost included Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton covering David Bowie
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is full of Rian Johnson whodunit goodness, but did you know it almost included a tribute to musical legend David Bowie?
Glass Onion cast members Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton revealed at a Nov. 14 press conference that they filmed a scene where their characters jam out to Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream” together. (Monáe has covered the song in the past.)
The scene is a flashback to the early days of the friendship between tech disruptors Miles Bron (Norton) and Cassandra “Andi” Brand (Monáe). In it, Andi sings “Moonage Daydream” while Miles accompanies her on guitar. Their friends Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn) and Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson) dance along on the side “like go-go dancers,” said Johnson.
Shot at the end of a shooting day, around 1 a.m., the scene was meant to illustrate Miles and Andi’s friendship before it soured. “We were trying to think of things that they might’ve done in the bar when it was good, when we’re bonding,” explained Norton.
“To show the deep connection,” added Monáe.
Monáe and Norton are both massive fans of Bowie, so they approached Johnson with the idea that the Glass Onion bar where Andi and Miles hang out might have had an open-mic night. Norton even contacted someone he knows at musical instrument company Gibson in order to get a replica of Mick Ronson’s Black Beauty Les Paul guitar for Miles to play in the scene.
While the scene was filmed — “Rian indulged us with two takes,” said Norton — it was cut from Glass Onion. Upon hearing this, interviewer Josh Horowitz exclaimed, “Release the Bowie cut!”
However, if Johnson gets his way, we might never see the footage.
“It’s such an incredible memory of this surreal late night, the best concert in the world for like seven people standing around in a basement bar in Belgrade,” Johnson said. “It’s so romantic, I almost want to burn the footage.”
If you’re still craving a David Bowie-Glass Onion crossover, you’re in luck. Keep your ears wide open for Bowie’s song “Starman,” featured in the Glass Onion bar bonding scene — perhaps as a tribute to what might have been.
Glass Onion is now on Netflix.

A quick word about how we’re covering Black Friday deals this year
Morning everyone. Black Friday 2022 is upon us and we’ll be covering it a bit differently to previous years – better, hopefully, albeit still in a way where an explanation might help. Basically, we’ll still be highlighting good hardware deals through our Black Friday hubs and the occasional standalone post, but this time we’re teaming up with our Gamer Network friends/colleagues/corporate co-underlings at Eurogamer and Digital Foundry to share the load.
Former Uber security chief found guilty of covering up massive 2016 data breach
Former Uber chief security officer Joe Sullivan has been found guilty of charges that he covered up a 2016 cyberattack where a hacker downloaded the personal information of more than 57 million people. The information stolen from Uber included names, email addresses, and phone numbers for more than 50 million Uber riders and 7 million drivers, as well as driver’s license numbers for another 600,000 drivers.
As reported by the New York Times and Washington Post, the jury convicted Sullivan on two counts: one for obstructing justice by not revealing the breach to the FTC and another for misprision, which is concealing a felony from the authorities.
