Total War dev looks to “put right” its most controversial DLC
Controversial Total War Warhammer 3 DLC Shadows of Change is getting a free update with new heroes, lords, and units, as developer Creative Assembly admits the expansion pack “didn’t give you enough new characters and units to play with at the original release.” Slammed at launch for a higher price point than past DLC despite offering slightly less than those previous iterations, Shadows of Change will now get an upgrade. CA says this will represent a new format as it looks to make “many more [pieces of] DLC,” and that even players without the pack will get some new, free content when TWW3 update 4.2 arrives.

Lord Of The Rings Online Dev Reacts To Amazon’s New Game Announcement
The developers of The Lord of the Rings Online have reacted to the news this week that Amazon Games is creating its own Lord of the Rings MMO that will seemingly exist alongside the older game.
LOTRO developer Standing Stone Games said in a forum post that it has received “a number of notes from excited and concerned community members” regarding Amazon’s new game. Some said they are concerned that Amazon’s game coming to market might signal the end of the road for The Lord of the Rings Online, but that is not the case.
“LOTRO is not going away!” Standing Stone Games said.

Gone Home dev Steve Gaynor is now running Fullbright on his own
Gone Home and Tacoma co-creator Steve Gaynor announces that he is now operating the indie game developer Fullbright solo and working on a new game. Open Roads, which was previously under production at Fullbright, is now being worked on by a separate, dedicated team, under the publisher Annapurna, as Gaynor, who co-created Gone Home in 2013, says that his “strengths do not lie with attempting to manage a large project or direct the work of others.”

Xbox Game Pass Hurts Sales, Says Dev Behind Xbox Game Pass Title
Dino Patti, the co-founder of Playdead and Jumpship, has revealed that Xbox Game Pass hurt the studio’s sales for Somerville.
According to an interview by Video Games SI, when Patti first founded Jumpship, the studio originally pitched the game to Google Stadia (RIP) but ended up partnering with Microsoft to have its game launch on Xbox Game Pass.
In the interview, Patti states how the deal was good, but they also believe it may have hurt their sales by saying:
