Dual Raspberry Pi chips power this HDMI gaming console stick
Pimoroni’s latest gaming creation is a “stick-like console” that plugs into any HDMI-compatible television or monitor. Last week, the company revealed the project codenamed DV Stick on the Tom’s Hardware Pi Cast (below). Despite not having a working prototype—it is currently set up on a breadboard—Pimoroni says it should be…

RiotPWR Launches New Dual Lightning and USB-C Gaming Controller
The new RiotPWR controller is equipped with Lightning and USB-C cables so that it can be played with Lightning-based iPhones and USB-C based iPads. It will also come in handy if Apple transitions to USB-C for the 2023 iPhone lineup, as is rumored.
“While competitors’ controllers come in Lightning and USB-C variations, the design of those controllers limits users to that one connection ability. This means that iOS gamers would need to buy a brand-new controller to play on their future Apple devices such as iPads,” said Fraser Townley, CEO of RiotPWR. “RiotPWR has always made future-proofing a priority when designing our controllers with our unique swappable and upgradable connection design.”
Modeled after console controllers, the RiotPWR controller offers two joysticks, Xbox-like button options, and an eight-way D-pad. Passthrough charging is available to keep your device battery full, and a phone mount accommodates any phone case.
There’s a built-in share button for streaming and recording gameplay or social media, along with audio DAC and headphone sockets.
The RiotPWR Cloud Gaming Controller can be purchased from the Apple website for $70.

Native Union Launches ‘Impossible’ Dual USB-C and Lightning Charging Cable
These types of cables are not uncommon, but charging options that include both Lightning and USB-C chargers are generally USB-A cables, rather than USB-C. The Belt Cable Duo has an MFi-certified Lightning charging connector, a USB-C charging connector, and a USB-C connector to plug into a power adapter rather than a USB-A connector. Native Union says this is an “impossible” cable design that was not previously available until the launch of the Belt Cable Duo.
Though the cable has two heads, it is meant for charging a single device, so it is not a dual charging cable. It can charge a USB-C device or a Lightning device, and the cable can be used to provide up to 60W, so it can be used to fast charge the iPhone and iPad with an appropriate charger.
The cable has a braided design for durability, and a leather strap for winding it up when it is not in use. Available in black/white, black, and a gold shade, the cable is priced at $50 and it can be ordered from the Native Union website.

Company Of Heroes 3’s dual campaigns are a gripping mix of old and new
For the last six months, I’ve been slowly picking my way through Company Of Heroes 2 for the first time. I’m about halfway through its campaign at the moment, but the rhythm of calling up replacements and reinforcing my squads hasn’t quite been engrained into my hotkey fingers yet. I keep making the mistake of thinking I can just push through with my remaining forces, but as any COH stalwart will know, that kind of road only ever leads to total disaster.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I came to preview the latest build of Company Of Heroes 3‘s dynamic, Total War-style Italian campaign and seemed to be, you know, actually making some pretty steady progress as I pushed up its mission maps. I was, admittedly, only playing the opening levels of this particular campaign, and I also had the aid of a handy M4A1 Sherman tank providing some welcome backup muscle. But during my four hours with it, I felt more in control of the battlefield than I’ve ever done while playing COH2. I was making excellent use of its reinforcement options, and heck, I was even remembering to tell units to retreat back to the nearest aid post so I didn’t lose the buffs they’d earned through their new EXP-driven promotions and veterancy bonuses. Then I played a mission from its more linear North African campaign, and had a very rude awakening indeed. Why, hello, frantic pressure and torrents of death bullets from Company Of Heroes 2 again, it’s been a while.
