The developer who unlocked 90Hz on the Pixel 6A needs help finishing the project
Remember that Pixel 6A mod that unlocks a 90Hz refresh rate? Well, the developer behind it, Nathan Brooke (aka Lunarixus), just made the changes public in hopes that other developers can finish off the tweak.
In a post on Twitter, Brooke includes a link to the project on GitHub and says that he just doesn’t have enough time to work on it. The mod activates a seemingly untapped 90Hz refresh rate on the budget-friendly Pixel 6A, which would otherwise ship with a 6.1-inch OLED display running at 60Hz. While The Verge’s senior editor, Sean Hollister, confirmed that the mod does work, there are a few caveats.

Modern Warfare 2 will give you a tonne of multiplayer rewards for finishing the campaign
As we approach the launch of Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward and Activision have revealed several incentives to get you to play – and finish – the game’s campaign. Call of Duty is clearly going all out this year to drum up enthusiasm for what’s traditionally been the game’s least-played mode.
Like with the beta rewards before them, there are 17 unlocks up for grabs here, and one – the most significant – tied to finishing the campaign. The rewards will be available for use in multiplayer, Special Ops, and in Warzone 2.0 when it launches on November 16.
Each reward is likely tied to finishing certain missions, though the developer did not specify. Nevertheless, if you get early access to the campaign on October 20 by pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2, your unlocks will be ready to use at the launch of multiplayer a week later.
YouTuber Spends Three Years Finishing GTA V With The Lowest Possible Kill Count
YouTuber DarkViperAU has finally completed his “Pacifist%” run of Grand Theft Auto V, a process he says took much longer than he expected it to. Having started the attempt in May 2019, DarkViper finally uploaded his final video this week, completing the game with a total of 96 kills, as picked up by GamesRadar.
While it’s often not possible to progress in GTA5 without killing an enemy or NPC, DarkViper’s so-called pacifist run was played with a set of rules that aim to lower the player character’s total body count. Those rules as listed on his YouTube are:
- No personally ending anyone unless I must.
- If I have to do so, I must do so with melee.
- If I can’t melee, I use my weakest weapon.
- No armour unless I can’t progress.
- Mission must be completed without mods.
His final tally came to 96 kills, with all but 30 of those completed with melee attacks. While many other enemies died during the course of this run, most of them were handled by letting other NPCs do the shooting, or using other methods to indirectly cause enemies to die.
