Pokémon developers Game Freak announce their new action-adventure IP with vague concept art
Take-Two’s “indie” publishing label Private Division have announced a partnership with Game Freak, the long-standing studio behind every mainline Pokémon game, plus a few extras. Details are scarce, but the pair are working on a brand new action-adventure IP codenamed Project Bloom. We’ve been teased with a single piece of concept art that shows off a brooding character dressed in traditional Japanese clothing, contemplating something in a very dreamy forest.
Pokémon developer Game Freak is partnering with Private Divison on a new action franchise
Japanese developer Game Freak is best known for a little franchise called Pokémon, but throughout the years it has dabbled in other genres, like the strategy title Little Town Hero and the rhythm-based platformer HarmoKnight. Now, the company is betting big on a brand-new action adventure IP codenamed Project Bloom.
Game Freak is teaming up with a Take-Two Interactive publishing label called Private Division. You may not recognize the company by name, but it’s been behind a slew of well-regarded titles throughout the years, like Outer Worlds, Kerbal Space Program, Rollerdrome and OlliOlli World, among others. As for Game Freak, last year’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus proved it could handle open worlds and action-heavy gameplay. The company says Project Bloom is a “bold and tonally different” IP from its prior work.
Not much is known about the game, other than some concept art and a short video announcing the partnership between the two developers. Also, we won’t be playing this anytime soon, as the “sweeping new action-adventure game” isn’t slated for release until Take-Two’s 2026 financial year, which runs from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
It might be surprising to hear that Take-Two Interactive is publishing the game, and not Nintendo, which has been Game Freak’s partner on Pokémon for over 25 years. While Pokémon is co-owned by Nintendo, Game Freak is an independent developer. To that end, no gaming console has been mentioned as a home for the forthcoming title. As the game won’t be released for three years, the home console landscape is likely to look different than it does now. At the very least, the long-rumored followup to the Switch should be out by then.

Pokemon Dev Game Freak Reveals Project Bloom, A New Action-Adventure Game
GTA parent company Take-Two publishing label Private Division is partnering up with Pokemon developer Game Freak for a new game. Details are still scant, but Private Division said this will be a “brand-new action-adventure IP,” currently in the works under the codename Project Bloom.
The first piece of concept art has been released, and it is very striking. A person, seemingly wielding a sword, stands in the middle of the frame, staring into a deep woods with gorgeous colors bursting through the background. Whether or not this teaser art is indicative of the final art style for the game is unknown. But it’s gorgeous all the same–and a distinct departure from the style most associated with Game Freak.
Game Freak director Kota Furushima said Project Bloom will be “bold and tonally different” from the company’s past games.
Pokémon studio Game Freak is making an action-adventure game codenamed Project Bloom
Game Freak is best known as the studio behind the mainline Pokémon games, including recent releases like Sword / Shield, Legends: Arceus, and Scarlet / Violet. But the developer is expanding its repertoire for a new release currently codenamed Project Bloom. There isn’t much detail on the game, but it’s described as “a brand-new action-adventure IP.” The studio released a single piece of concept art, which you can see above.
To release the game, the studio has partnered with Private Division, a publishing label under the Take-Two umbrella, which previously published titles ranging from The Outer Worlds to OlliOlli World. “We’re ready to help Game Freak unleash their potential and we’re honored to be the first Western publisher to work…

Man killed by a flying COW that was hit by a train and flung 100ft in freak accident while urinating on tracks
A PENSIONER who was urinating on a train track died in a freak accident when he was hit by a flying cow.
Shivdayal Sharma, 82, died instantly after an express train rammed the beasts and launched it 100ft into the air.

The odd incident happened in Alwar, India, where the cow had wandered onto nearby train tracks.
Another person was standing nearby and narrowly escaped being struck by the projectile animal, reports say.
The trains which run through the area where Sharma was can reach speeds of up to 100mph.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that measures such as garbage and vegetation removal had begun to cull the pesky cows.
The accident has caused many to rally for better regulation on the train route, which allegedly sees a lot of incidents with cows on the train tracks.
One railway even went as far to begin erecting metal fences along the train tracks to prevent wandering cows.
Earlier this week, a farmer narrowly escaped being trampled by a rampaging cow in a horrifying video.
Shocking video shows experienced farmer Dani Blair being attacked by the cow in a calving pen before her husband Matthew managed to intervene.
The horrifying CCTV shows the cow headbutting Dani into the wall.
As she attempts to regain control of the situation she is thrown in the air and lands on the floor of the barn.
When Matthew enters the ring the cow bucks her head once more before calming down as Dani manages to crawl out the gate.

Game Freak Wants To Make More Games Besides Pokemon
Game Freak is going to continue making games outside of Pokemon, according to new developer statements. In an interview with Axios, Pocket Card Jockey director Masao Taya stated that the team believes “it is very important for the studio to continue making and releasing titles outside of the Pokémon series.” While the studio’s output has been very Pokemon-focused since Red and Blue’s release, Game Freak has also released a fair amount of games outside of that. In recent years, Game Freak has developed Little Town Hero and Giga Wrecker.
Most recently, Game Freak put out the Apple Arcade exclusive remake of Pocket Card Jokey, subtitled Ride On! This version added 3D races, updated visuals more generally, and changed some of the rule set. Taya directed both versions.
The complexity of putting out Pokemon titles almost every year has made it difficult to make games without external support. In the interview, Taya said, “In recent years, the resources needed for game development have grown and grown, so Development Department One has been trying out a style of development where it works with external studios.” On Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On, Game Freak worked with Infiniteloop Co. and Pixyda.

Elizabethtown Police spokesman Chris Denham said wind was likely at fault for the tragic accident[/caption]
Elizabethtown Police spokesman Chris Denham was shocked to discover what happened.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Denham said.
“It’s certainly very windy out here and I’m certain that did have a factor and was involved in this.”
Witnesses corroborated that the high winds blew the sign from its post, causing it to fall on top of a car that was in the parking lot.
The Elizabethtown Fire Department and Hardin County EMS extracted the occupants from the vehicle shortly after they arrived at the scene.
The 72-year-old woman was rushed to University Hospital in Louisville.
WAVE News confirmed that she passed away at the hospital.
The other passengers, an adult man and a woman, were taken to Baptist Health Hardin.
Their injuries remain unknown.
The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
Elizabethtown Police Department and the City of Elizabethtown’s Planning Department are continuing to investigate the incident.
A GoFundMe has been made to help the family.
