Gears 5 joins GeForce Now as first Xbox title, Deathloop and other Xbox games to follow
As you know, Microsoft and Nvidia are collaborating to bring Xbox titles to the card maker’s GeForce Now game streaming service, and the first title as part of the 10-year deal arrives today.
The first of these titles is Gears 5, and it is available to stream across multiple devices using the GeForce Now servers.
You can stream Xbox PC titles purchased through Steam on PCs, macOS devices, Chromebooks, smartphones, and other devices.
Before Unreal or Gears of War, a young Cliff Bleszinski made a shareware game called The Palace of Deceit
Gears Of War 5’s co-op campaign is a reminder that simplicity is king
Here I am, once again, The Gears Of War-liker. I’m back, specifically because vidbud Liam and I played some Gears Of War 5 co-op campaign the other night, a rare occasion where we hadn’t played a game for work but for just like… fun? Anyway, through all the roadie-running and chainsaw-gun-toting, I kept thinking, “I haven’t played a video game that feels so much like a video game in ages, I miss it”.
Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski returns as a comic book creator of Scrapper
Dune’s Oscar-nominated screenwriter is penning Netflix’s Gears Of War film
Netflix’s take on chonky soldiers vs. equally chonky underground aliens is, excuse me, gearing up. Last November, the streaming service announced plans to adapt Gears Of War’s chainsaw-swinging into an animated series and a live-action film. The latter has now tapped a writer. Jon Spaihts is the Oscar-nominated screenwriter behind Dune, Prometheus, and Doctor Strange, and he’s now writing the Gears Of War film, Netflix announced today.
Netflix’s ‘Gears of War’ movie gets ‘Doctor Strange’ writer Jon Spaihts
Netflix announced today that its “Gears of War” live-action movie will be written by Jon Spaihts, known for his work on “Doctor Strange” and “Dune.” “Gears of War is one of the all-time great action games, with vivid characters, a beautifully designed world, and a combat system that drives home the lethality of war and […]

Cliff Bleszinski once considered making Gears of War 4 an FPS: ‘Can you imagine chainsawing a Locust in first person?’
Gears Of War isn’t just a game, it’s tradition
I’m going to Japan in a couple of weeks, and I am beyond excited. It’s been 15 years since I last visited family in Yokohama, and my last memory is one where I’m miserable and I’m staring out of a cab window going back to the airport. I didn’t want to leave. It sounds corny as heck, but I can’t wait to sucker punch that memory with a swing that’s been building for 5478 days, then jab it full of happy ones. Really, I imagine what will happen is I’ll get weirdly emotional as the plane touches down and my mate Simon, who I’m going with, will be like, “Get a hold of yourself you buffoon”.
I got LINE recently – a Whatsapp equivalent that’s big in Japan – to arrange some meetups with friends and family. Those arrangements have happened, which brings me great joy. But in a surprise plot twist, it meant I got back in touch with a guy called Sam. Now Sam, he’s a good bud and we go a long way back. All the way back to the original Gears Of War days. And I think we’ve arranged, as is custom, to play Gears 6 whenever it arrives. Such is the bizarre way of things.
Zangief piledrives into Street Fighter 6 with a bod that puts the Gears lads to shame
Capcom revealed three more fighters coming to Street Fighter 6‘s roster last night: big lad Zangief, Union Jack-wearing Cammy and newcomer Lily, a descendant of T. Hawk’s famous Thunderfoot tribe. Before we talk about anything else, though, can we please just take a moment to appreciate Zangief’s enormous bod? The Street Fighter wrestler was always a force to be reckoned with in earlier games, but holy heck, I bet you could fit four Marcus Fenixes into those biceps and still have room left over for his son and fellow Gears Of War slab JD. Come and see what I mean in the new trailer below.
