Sorry, Warlocks, you haven’t won the Destiny 2 Guardian Games
The Destiny 2 Guardian Games winner hasn’t yet been chosen, despite what you may have heard. Unfortunately for the many Warlock mains who logged into the space FPS game to see that they’d been victorious in the class showdown, Bungie says the early announcement was an accident – although its choice of wording has only led to plenty of tongue-in-cheek jokes from the Destiny 2 community.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games players want a Titans win in honour of Zavala
Destiny 2 Guardian Games players want Titans to win to honour Commander Zavala, whose voice actor, Lance Reddick, passed away suddenly just a few months ago. Zavala, a Titan who is a prominent leader of the Vanguard, is a central character in Bungie’s FPS game. Reddick’s passing took a toll on the community as players worldwide mourned his death; he was not only a leading voice but also an avid Destiny 2 player himself, and Guardian Games players are seeking to honour his memory by playing as the in-game class Zavala represented.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 Guide: Medallions, Armor, New Scout Rifle, And Exotic
The annual Destiny 2 Guardian Games event has returned for 2023, and it comes with some adjustments, new rewards to earn, and an event card. As always, this is a class-based event that pits Titans vs. Warlocks vs. Hunters for bragging rights over the next year. Here’s the full rundown on what you need to know about earning medallions, scoring in Supremacy mode, and obtaining the new scout rifle, Exotic sparrow, and Heir Apparent catalyst.
How to start Guardian Games
To get underway, visit the Tower and speak with Eva Levante. The Tower has been adorned with a bunch of vaguely Olympics-y decorations, and Eva will be the key vendor throughout the event.
Eva will give you a new Guardian Games class item, and you should keep it equipped during the event. Completing activities with this class item equipped will earn you medallions, which is the currency used to push your class toward victory and earn yourself rewards. You should also note that the class item is required to make progress on certain bounties offered by Eva.

The Zelim Guardian is an automated search and rescue craft
Since 2020, Zelim, a little-known startup based out of the UK, has been quietly working to change how first responders take on maritime rescues. “We are here to make unmanned search and rescue normal,” the company declares on its website. An accompanying YouTube video details some of the technologies it’s developing to realize that vision. One of those solutions, an automated rescue craft called the Guardian, is a step closer to reality.
On Tuesday, Zelim announced the craft will integrate the SM300 remote control and command system from Sea Machines, a firm that specializes in autonomous and computer vision software for sea vessels. According to Zelim, the system will allow the Guardian to carry out search and rescue operations on its own. It will also allow first responders to pilot the craft remotely from a “command center anywhere in the world.” The vessel will also integrate Zelim’s own SARBox tech for detecting and tracking overboard sailors and passengers. Once the system detects someone, the Guardian will deploy Zelim’s Swift solution, a device that looks like a conveyor belt, to pull people from the water. “This combination of technologies gives the vessel a unique capability and is a global first for the maritime industry,” the company claims.
Zelim envisions the Guardian launching from a mothership. Since it’s a fully automated craft, the Guardian can venture out into conditions that would be normally deemed too dangerous for a human crew. In that way, not only would it reduce the risk to first responders, but it could also mean the difference between life and death when time is critical. Zelim expects to begin putting the Guardian through extensive sea trials starting later this year.

Destiny 2 Guardian Rank endgame tasks to be retroactive in new fix
Destiny 2 Guardian Rank objectives regarding solo and Master raid and dungeon content will be applied retroactively as of next week, according to Bungie. This means Destiny 2 players who have made progress toward these Guardian Rank objectives at any point in the past will now see that counted toward their Destiny 2 Guardian Ranks. The fix is sure to please Guardians who worked hard to solo dungeon content or complete Master raids, as they won’t need to start from scratch for these activities to count toward their ranks in Bungie’s popular FPS game.
“Solo and Master dungeon/raid completions not being retroactive for Guardian Rank 11 is not intended! We have a fix for this in our midseason update which is currently scheduled for next week. It will be retroactive, so you won’t need to complete the objective again,” a tweet from Destiny 2 Team, Bungie’s official Destiny 2 community management Twitter account, says.

Possible GUARDIAN ANGEL Aids Traveler Chased Through the Nevada Desert
A man is traveling through the Nevada desert when a car starts chasing him. He is forced to pull over because of a flat tire. Then something happens that seems to be the act of a Guardian Angel.
The following account was forwarded to me:
“I have a story that goes back to the early 1970s. I’m from Lynwood, Washington. I was traveling across Nevada from Idaho down to California. And it was early in the morning and I was outside of Winnemucca, Nevada about 5:30 or 6:00 AM. I was by myself. It was out in the desert area and it was virtually uninhabited. A car came up behind me with two inhabitants who basically started following right on my bumper. I became concerned because it was apparent that they were really interested in getting me stopped. They would pull up alongside and motion me over and things like that. I was afraid.
So, as we went along, this played out for several miles and they kept motioning for me to pull over and they came up alongside and I became quite fearful. Well, the oddest thing happened. Somehow, I was getting a flat right front tire as I could feel the car start to sway. I pulled up to a stop and off to the right was a house. These people pulled up in the car and stopped behind me. I didn’t know what to do. I was afraid to get out and somebody came out of the house to a pick-up (truck) that was running. And now this was the only house in the area. There was no other house around.
And the older man walked out and he looked and one of the people in the car pointed to this guy and they went ahead and pulled on by me and took off. So I got out and I looked at the man and he was doing something around the pick-up. So I went ahead and got my tire out and changed it and went on my way. Well, it made me quite fearful.
On the way back from California, on the way back to Idaho, I looked for this place. I wanted to stop because it left such a mark on me psychologically. I found the place. It was totally uninhabited. Absolutely abandoned. No windows. No doors. Just an old shack. I honestly feel that something kept me from being harmed. Something chased these two guys away. Was it a Guardian Angel looking over me? That is what happened.” C

Destiny 2: Lightfall Update Fixes Invisible Guardian Bug, Reduces Commendations For Guardian Ranks
A new patch for Destiny 2 has gone live and addresses a number of issues that have popped up since the start of the Lightfall expansion. One of the big changes in this update is an adjustment to the Guardian Ranks system, as Bungie has reduced the required Commendations score needed to climb up the ranks according to its patch notes.
The number of Commendation points needed was criticized by the Destiny 2 community for being excessively high, and Bungie previously mentioned that it would lower the requirements to complete objectives across all Guardian Ranks. Players can no longer offer Commendations to others following a failed mission activity, so if you’ve been spawning into the Wellspring with a fireteam and wiping out your squad with self-inflicted rocket launcher attacks, you won’t be able to farm Commendations any longer.
One of the other big issues affecting Destiny 2 was a problem that caused Guardians to become invisible due to them not being rendered correctly in the game, giving some players an unexpected advantage in PvP. This bug, which resulted in a delay to this season’s Iron Banner, has now been fixed just in time for the return of this week’s Trials of Osiris multiplayer event.
