Snap up one of our Sun Holidays From £9.50 as we celebrate ten years
READERS will love our Sun holidays – but don’t just take our word for it.
We talk to lots of people who have holidayed with us and they rave about the breaks.
Gemma and Sam Edwards are a typical example, they went on their first Sun break ten years ago and since then, their love for Sun Hols From £9.50 has grown — along with their family.
Now, sons Albie, three, and one-year-old Teddy tag along too.
The couple from Sevenoaks, Kent, say the trips just keep getting better as the parks are upgraded.
Painter and decorator Sam, 28, a keen fisherman, likes to combine his breaks with beach fishing.
But after his latest visit to Parkdean Resorts Kessingland Beach Holiday Park in Suffolk, he is hooked on bingo, netting £300 and £70 on consecutive nights.
Gemma, 28, a full-time mum, says it was the icing on the cake of another fantastic week.
She adds: “It looks like we’ll be taking advantage of many more Sun promotions at this rate.”
Albie and Teddy are growing up with the joys of Sun breaks and both are getting their water wings, with time in the swimming pool top of their to-do list.
Gemma says: “They love splashing in the pool and once they are in they don’t want to get out.
“Kessingland is a beautiful location and you can walk down to the beach.
“Albie loves going in the sea and collecting shells and it won’t be long before Teddy is joining him. At the moment Teddy finds it hilarious to knock down his brother’s sandcastles!”
Sam says: “Thanks to The Sun we’ve visited parts of the country that we probably wouldn’t have gone to, like Cornwall and the Isle of Wight.
“The parks have all been of a very high standard. They put so much effort into making sure everyone has a great time.”
The couple make it into a self-catering break by stocking up on their favourite foods, and they bring the boys’ toys so the caravan is like a home from home.
Gemma says: “We love our Sun Holidays and we are always telling friends how good they are.
“For the best value holidays, go with The Sun. You’ll be smiling!”

Warning to travellers as costs of package holidays soar in six destinations – with favourite hotspot hit the hardest
BRITS heading abroad have faced eye-watering price increases for holiday packages in six of the favourite hostpots in Europe.
The Office for National Statistics data revealed price of flights rose by 44 per cent in the past year, with holiday deals also on the up.
The average price to holiday in Greece was £867 per person this summer[/caption]
Italian destinations are costing 20 per cent more compared to last year[/caption]
The UK statistics giant said airlines capitalised on pent-up demand for holidays.
The heightened prices were also caused by a reduction in the number of flights operating and the rising cost of jet fuel.
However, those claims were followed by the consumer watchdog, Which?, who found the price of holiday packages jumped by 19 per cent year on year as operators faced growing costs.
The consumer group compared prices in the six most popular holiday destinations – Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Turkey and Cyprus.
According to Which?, Greece had the steepest price rises with a week’s holiday costing on average 30 per cent more than last year.
For one person, the average price was £867 per person this summer.
Prices have also risen by a fifth in Italy, Spain and Turkey.
Portugal holiday fares were less affected with the cost of a week’s holiday rising by seven per cent to an average of £705 per person.
But it was Spain that had the cheapest getaways, with a week’s package costing £693 per person.
Which? used data from Travelsupermarket.com and monitored summer 2023 holiday prices between November 1 and January 3, before comparing them to 2022 prices in the same destinations.
Industry heavyweights have also weighed in and predicted price rises for the future.
Michael O’Leary, chief executive of Ryanair, said the era of £9.99 seats would not return “for the next year or two” because of high oil prices.
He said: “There’s lots of spending going on out there.
“We’ve gone through two weeks of record bookings after Christmas.
“People are worried prices might rise in summer, which I think they will, and want to get in there early.”
Skyscanner, the world’s biggest flight comparison platform, said bookings for UK departures were up 50 per cent this year compared with the same period in 2019.
Laura Lindsay, Skyscanner’s trends expert told The Times: “We’re seeing demand for holidays is extremely high going into 2023, and bookings in the first and second week in January exceeded the volume during the corresponding week in 2019.
“This large wave of interest shows that travellers are eager to make plans, as well as continuing to make up for lost time.”

Slack’s Private GitHub Code Repositories Stolen Over Holidays
The wording from the notice [1, 2] published on New Year’s eve is as follows: “On December 29, 2022, we were notified of suspicious activity on our GitHub account. Upon investigation, we discovered that a limited number of Slack employee tokens were stolen and misused to gain access to our externally hosted GitHub repository. Our investigation also revealed that the threat actor downloaded private code repositories on December 27. No downloaded repositories contained customer data, means to access customer data, or Slack’s primary codebase.”
Slack has since invalidated the stolen tokens and says it is investigating “potential impact” to customers. At this time, there is no indication that sensitive areas of Slack’s environment, including production, were accessed. Out of caution, however, the company has rotated the relevant secrets. “Based on currently available information, the unauthorized access did not result from a vulnerability inherent to Slack. We will continue to investigate and monitor for further exposure,” states Slack’s security team. The good news, with regards to the most recent security update is that no action needs to be taken by customers, for now.

What games did you play over the holidays?
The best gaming thing I experienced in the holidays? Sonic Prime
I played quite a few games over the holiday and new year period – including some pretty good stuff. I jumped back into the much-improved Cyberpunk 2077. I tried out excellent indie Unchained Echoes. There was a lot of Marvel Snap. I was even playing a few games I can’t talk about yet – you’ll read reviews later. And, at our new years bash, Smash, Rock Band, and Point Blank all got broken out. Good times.
But the best gaming thing I experienced this holiday wasn’t even a game – it was a TV show. I’m not talking about having a screener of The Last of Us, either – I’m on about Sonic Prime.
What a good time for Sonic, hey? Two of the best – if not the outright best – gaming movie adaptations of all time. A game that’s actually decent. And now, a successful and high-quality TV show that’s just… fun. What year is it?! 1993?
