We Want This Leaked LEGO ‘The Little Mermaid’ Set to be Part of Our World

Sonic’s four new Lego kits are traditional playsets for kids, not collectors – and that’s brilliant
After months of speculation and a couple of persistent leaks, the Lego Group has announced its latest video game collaboration: Lego Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sonic has appeared in Lego form before, of course – first in the Lego Dimensions toys-to-life video game, and later in a brilliant Lego Ideas set depicting Green Hill Zone. Unlike that set, however, the new official Sonic range is squarely aimed at kids. As it should be.
The Lego Ideas set was more suitable for grown-up fans of Sonic and nineties kids in need of a dose of nostalgia. Set up as a diorama of a classic Sonic level, it wasn’t all that ‘playable’. It even shipped in a black box, which is Lego’s signal that they consider the set an 18+ product. The new sets are the opposite, with suggested age brackets ranging from 6+ for the basic set up to 8+ for the most intricate.
The perfect Lego Nintendo Game Boy doesn’t exist…
Nick Lever, video editor and Lego Masters Australia finalist, has recreated the original Nintendo Game Boy in bricks — and with such droolworthy depth that I hereby petition Lego to make it into an official set.
It’s just 364 pieces, only 115 different parts, most of them common enough you can find ‘em dirt cheap. Almost every recognizable facet of the Game Boy is represented, from the angled rice-grain Start / Select buttons to the distinctive tint of the screen — achieved here by placing lime green tiles underneath a trans-blue window.
While there’s no removable battery tray or front speaker, you can indeed press down on the D-pad and click in a “cartridge.” You might want to take a close look at those A and B buttons, too…
This New LEGO Space Age Set Is Wonderfully Affordable
The LEGO Group just unveiled a fun new Tales of the Space Age set where you’ll turn a pile of bricks into a mosaic of space. And while this is a pretty minimalistic set that’s super simple to assemble, it’s also visually appealing and affordable.

Lego Super Mario Creativity Toolbox Maker Set

The Creativity Toolbox Maker set includes 588 blocks to expand your Lego Super Mario courses with new obstacles like fire and spike traps, power-ups like the red mushroom, and extra characters like Blue Yoshi, Goombas, and Wendy O. Koopa. You can also build extra set dressing like clouds, trees, and hills to add some visual variety to your levels.
Lego Super Mario Princess Peach Starter Course
Three of the Lego Super Mario starter courses are on sale at Amazon for up to $25% off. Each set comes with a figure of Mario, Luigi, or Peach that interact with other parts of the courses you build–like making iconic sound effects and even changing facial expressions when you collect coins or place them on special “action blocks” included in each set (you’ll need these starter sets to make the most of the expansion kits that are also available). Starter sets and figures can also be paired to create “co-op” adventures.
$44.80 ($60)
