Lego’s next limited-edition sets could include an Elven Castle and this Sushi Restaurant
On Wednesday, Lego sold 30,000 copies of a Lego castle designed by a fan — the Mountain Fortress — earning him half a million dollars for his work. For a while, the company’s website was flattened under the load, and my Verge story about these fan-designed sets was pretty popular, too.
So I suspect you might also be interested in a future wave of limited-edition, fan-designed Lego sets — and the chance to vote on them yourself!
Today marks one week before voting wraps in the Lego BrickLink Designer Program Series 4, where many incredible ideas are currently vying for the chance to become an actual product packaged, sold, and shipped by The Lego Group.
And while Lego will have the final say, it wants to know which sets you prefer. Here…

Pucker up for better kissing in “hefty” Baldur’s Gate 3 update next week
Romance sim masquerading as fantasy RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 is putting vaseline on its lips, wiggling a little bit of tongue out and practising in the mirror for its next big update. That’s right, just in time for Valentine’s Day (or maybe just after), Larian are dropping the “Improved Smooches” patch.
What’s next for STIRR, the free streaming service Thinking Media just acquired
Broadcasting company Sinclair recently sold off its free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service STIRR to Thinking Media, a startup that provides cloud-based streaming solutions for FAST and over-the-top (OTT) services. The new owners have ambitious plans for the streamer, including an international expansion, tripling its on-demand content library and becoming an AI-native streamer with advanced […]

Handcrafted “interactive music album” Asterism has a delightful Next Fest demo
Take your protein pill and put your headphones on for the free demo of Asterism, an “interactive music album” exploring a solar system one song at a time. Each visit to a planet lasts as long as the song, whisking us through scenes reflecting the lyrics and mood, rendered with a mix of 3D computer art and a range of handmade physical mediums. I was delighted from the first twang. And impressively, it’s mostly the work of one developer, Claire Morwood. Do have a look!
Baldur’s Gate 3’s next patch is a big one, and it’ll let you kiss dudes on the forehead
Good news, people who like watching their Tav munch on the lips of Baldur’s Gate 3’s gang of companions (we’re not judging, by the way), the game’s next patch is inbound next week and it looks like it’ll let you casually plant a big wet smooch on the foreheads of your favourite party members.
It’s been a little while since we last got a properly beefy patch for Larian’s RPG, with the late November one that brought the game a new epilogue and its fearsome honour mode being the most recent non-hotfix update for the game. To be fair Larian has had some save and ban issues to sort out on Xbox since that point, so it’s been busy.
Now, though, we’re back in business! Patch number 6 for the game has now been confirmed to be coming next week, and as you can see in the video Larian’s included with its announcement of that, forehead kisses are on the menu. Alongside these “improved smooches”, you can look forward to “new camp idle animations, new legendary actions in honour mode, and plenty of bug fixes.”
My eyes hurt from the extreme 90s CGI style of this Next Fest demo, and I couldn’t be happier
Ah sure I’ve enjoyed the nostalgic resurgence of Quake/PlayStation-grade 3D art in video games, but I am fully blown away by indie game Fragrance Point looking like the truest classic 3D computer graphics: the shiny pre-rendered CGI from TV show transition cards, adverts for double-disc dance music compilations, and Windows Media Player skins. My eyes are still reeling from the gloss and glitz and pulsating lights of the Steam Next Fest demo, and I welcome this pain. Grab the demo now and set out to explore a space station as a bopping security bot with snazzy boots and endless projectile lipstick.
