Sonic Frontiers review: a patchwork playground that veers between fun and frustration
I shouldn’t enjoy Sonic Frontiers as much as I do, but I do? The game brings out the worst in me on the regular, as I turn into a spittle slinger who screams into their fist after hitting the tiniest ledge or fighting an awful, awful boss. Frontiers is a janky beast – a mess. Yet, it’s a lot of fun when you’re mindlessly collecting stuff and sliding on rails and listening to excellent drum and bass tracks. It’s a playground of the best and worst kind, so if you’d like a test of patience with your precious spare time, then you simply can’t get any better than this.
I was mom-shamed for looking too good at the playground but I don’t care, dressing up makes me feel better
A MOM had been shamed by other moms for dressing up at the playground, but she doesn’t care because getting ready for the day gives her purpose.
One of the moms told her that she didn’t like her because of the way she dressed.

Rosa Picosa shared the hurtful interaction on TikTok.
Rosie said in the video: “Last year, my son and I were on our weekly excursion to the playground when we came across the ever-intimidating mom group.
“I had zero reasons to believe they were anything but harmless – but my high school survival instincts told me to keep my distance.
“But my son, having no survival instincts, prances right into the middle of their group. Queue nervous sweat.

“As I reluctantly trace a path to him, I hear one of the moms say something I will never soon forget:
‘Oh, you look nice, I don’t like you.’”
Rosa was shocked by the mom’s snide insult.
“Her words sent a quick jolt through my system while the other moms sniggered behind her,” Rosa said.

“Without thinking I responded with: ‘Oh, this is the first time I’ve gotten dressed in like three weeks.’ Lie.
“Was I actually overdressed for the playground? And does working in the home mean I don’t have to get dressed every day? Well, some days, yes.
“But I have discovered that deliberately getting myself ready in the morning helps me to mentally prepare for the day. And fills my mornings with purpose.
“And yes, that means getting dressed all the way down to my shoes – whether I’m leaving the house or not.”
MOMS TO THE RESCUE
Many moms quickly rushed to the comment section to let her know she did nothing wrong but rather the other moms were clearly insecure.
One mom wrote: “It was likely her lashing out because she found YOU intimidating.
“It was insecurity, not you. You look fab.”
Another commented: “Never water yourself down to make somebody else feel comfortable.”
“Getting ready every day as a mom makes me feel SO GOOD.
“I wear what I want, slap on lipstick and fancy perfume, and feel like the main character,” a third shared.
Other moms on TikTok reassured her that she did nothing wrong[/caption]
Gloomwood’s grimy stealth playground deserves better than the agony of early access
Gloomwood is, so far, a very good game, but it is also not much of a game – in the literal sense that it has launched into early access incomplete. There’s currently just enough of it to play that it makes you feel both bereft and quite annoyed when it suddenly clangs its great iron doors shut in front of you. “Let me in!!” you scream, as you hammer on the silent portal. “I really like Thief! I get you! I want to throw more decapitated heads as lures!”
If you are one of those people who bases their gaming personality on liking the original Thief series, Gloomwood will have been on your radar for a while. It’s a grimy, steampunk-ish stealth immersive sim with a deliberate low-poly vibe, and it picks up the abandoned Thief football to absolutely run with it. But, though the current EA build is but short, it feels like Gloomwood is aiming to punt that ball into outer space. There’s so much more room to be playful and experiment than I expected, and it’s so much fun that if you’d never played a stealth sim in your life I’d recommend Gloomwood. Except I wouldn’t, because it feels like I’d be doing you a disservice to recommend it now, when the fun will be so quickly snatched away.
