Sketchy Rumor Says Next iPhone SE Will Feature Dynamic Island Instead of Notch
This latest claim comes from the leaker @MajinBuOfficial on X, formerly known as Twitter. In addition to the Dynamic Island, he said the next iPhone SE could have a vertical rear camera bump like the one rumored for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, but with one camera instead of two. Based on the information he shared, the rear microphone and LED flash would be positioned below the camera lens in a pill-shaped bump.
@MajinBuOfficial recently shared alleged iPhone 16 schematics that are believed to be accurate. However, he has a mixed track record with Apple rumors, and he cautioned that this iPhone SE information is still unconfirmed for now. In addition, Apple is likely prototyping multiple iPhone SE models, and it may not have finalized a design.
The next iPhone SE is expected to launch in 2025, around three years after the current model was released, but this timeframe could change.

iPhone SE 4: Here’s What the Latest Rumors Say
Unfortunately, there has been uncertainty surrounding the fourth-generation iPhone SE, with rumors conflicting about if or when the device might launch.
Yesterday, analyst Jeff Pu claimed that the fourth-generation iPhone SE with an Apple-designed 5G modem was delayed until 2025. Today, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo agreed that mass production of Apple’s modem could begin in 2025 at the earliest, but he said the iPhone SE that Apple is using to test the modem is actually an internal prototype that the company does not plan to mass produce for release to the public. Based on Kuo’s latest information, it is now unclear if a fourth-generation iPhone SE is still planned.
Kuo had previously claimed that the next iPhone SE would have a similar design as the standard iPhone 14 model released last year, suggesting that the device would have been equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display and Face ID.
The current iPhone SE was released in March 2022 with a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, 5G, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and the A15 Bionic chip. Priced starting at $429 in the U.S., it is one of Apple’s more affordable iPhone models. Previous generations of the iPhone SE were released in 2020 and 2016, so the device has gone multiple years between each refresh, meaning that any new model is unlikely to launch until at least 2024.
All in all, fourth-generation iPhone SE rumors have been in an on-again, off-again state, so there is still uncertainty surrounding the device.

New iPhone SE With Apple-Designed 5G Modem Said to Launch in 2025
This information comes two months after analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple restarted development of a fourth-generation iPhone SE with a 6.1-inch OLED display and an Apple-designed 5G modem. He said the modem would be built with TSMC’s 4nm process and support sub-6GHz bands only, meaning that mmWave would not be supported initially.
Kuo said mass production of the fourth-generation iPhone SE would begin in the first half of 2024, and Qualcomm’s CEO also anticipated a 2024 timeframe for Apple’s modem, but Pu believes the device’s launch has been delayed until 2025.
The current iPhone SE was released in March 2022 and is equipped with Qualcomm’s custom Snapdragon X57 chip for sub-6GHz 5G. The 4.7-inch device is Apple’s last iPhone with a Home button and Touch ID, but Face ID is likely for the new model, as Kuo said the device will have a similar design as the standard iPhone 14 model.
Apple acquired the majority of Intel’s smartphone modem business in 2019 in an effort to design its own iPhone modem, a move that would reduce its dependance on Qualcomm. It’s unclear if Apple’s modem will offer any customer-facing benefits compared to Qualcomm’s modems, such as faster 5G performance or improved power efficiency.
