Unannounced Beats Studio Pro headphones revealed in iOS beta
Beats seems on the cusp of having a fairly busy spring. We already know that Studio Buds Plus earbuds are on the way (and likely soon), thanks to a premature Amazon listing. And now 9to5Mac is reporting that a refreshed set of Studio Pro noise-canceling headphones are also in the works after being spotted in the release candidate build of iOS 16.5 that went out to developers yesterday.
Citing sources familiar with the headphones, 9to5Mac says we can expect more powerful noise cancellation and an improved transparency mode. The $350 Studio 3 headphones — still being sold by Apple as of now — don’t offer any passthrough / transparency mode whatsoever. But Beats did a pretty good job with the feature on the Solo Pro headphones released in…

Unannounced single-player Titanfall game has been cancelled by EA
Fans have been clamouring for a sequel to Titanfall 2 since its release in 2016, but it looks like we might need to put those hopes on hold for a little longer. According to a report from Bloomberg, EA have cancelled an unannounced project codenamed Titanfall Legends, a single-player mash-up between Titanfall and Apex Legends – Respawn’s battle royale, set in the same universe. Around 50 devs were working on the game before its cancellation earlier this week. EA are reportedly trying to find other positions for the devs, but those that aren’t rehired are being laid off with severance.
EA reportedly canceled an unannounced single-player Titanfall game
EA didn’t just kill Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile, apparently. Bloombergsources claim the publisher canceled an unannounced single-player game set in the Titanfall and Apex Legends universe. While details of the project aren’t available, veteran developer Mohammad Alavi (who also worked on the Call of Duty series) was reportedly helming the project until he left Respawn in early 2022. EA is said to be finding places for the affected 50 team members when possible.
EA declines to comment. Respawn says it’s shutting down Apex Legends Mobile as its content roadmap is starting to “fall short” of expectations. The studio also delayed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor by six weeks over quality concerns.
The reported cancelation doesn’t come as a shock. The global economy is slowing, and game publishers are among those scaling back to help endure financial turmoil. Ubisoft recently canceled three games amid a gloomy outlook, and Halo developer 343 Industries is dealing with the consequences of Microsoft’s layoffs. Decisions like this theoretically help EA and Respawn concentrate on known money-makers like Apex Legends, which has earned over $2 billion so far.
The rumor is likely to be disappointing to fans if true. The Titanfall games are well-reviewed, but Titanfall 2 arrived seven years ago. A third title in the series eventually transformed into Apex Legends as the battle royale trend took hold. Now, players may have to wait even longer for a new story-driven game in the franchise — if it happens at all.

Skull & Bones sails into a sixth delay while Ubisoft axes three more unannounced games
The sea is harsh, but game development can be harsher. Ubisoft’s pirate ’em up Skull and Bones has been delayed yet again, despite already having being delayed for the fifth time last September. It was due for March, but this latest delay pushes it back to “early” in the financial year 2023-24, which begins in July.
At least it’s (sea)faring better than three other unannounced Ubisoft games, which have been cancelled thanks to Ubisoft’s general underperforming sails. Sorry, sales.
Ubisoft has canceled three unannounced titles and delayed Skull and Bones again
Ubisoft has updated its 2022-23 year-end financial targets as well as made changes ahead of its next financial year.
These changes have led the company to cancel three unannounced titles and delay its pirate game Skull and Bones for the sixth time.
According to Ubibsoft, it wants to ensure all of its energy is focused on building its brands and live services into some of “the most powerful within the industry.” As a consequence of this, it decided to cancel the three unannounced projects, on top of the four already announced in July 2022.

Unannounced, unfinished PS5 game supposedly leaks
A very short snippet of gameplay from an as of yet unannounced PlayStation title has seemingly leaked over the weekend.
Shared to the GamingLeaksAndRumuors subreddit, a clip of a game reportedly nicknamed “Ooze” that is planned to release on the PS5 showed off literally around two seconds of gameplay, though has since been deleted (thanks, Eurogamer). Obviously two seconds isn’t much to go off of, but a screenshot was also shared, showing a pretty standard looking male character in some basic sci-fi gear, on some kind of alien planet.
According to the information shared to Reddit, known leaker Dusk Golem shared that they have seen the game, though that this particular leak is from an old build. The nickname “Ooze” also comes from Dusk Golem, who said that the name “will make more & more sense when people see more of this whenever they do, it’s a very ooey, gooey game, more than this clip even suggests.”
