And as the only men’s football player to ever score a hat-trick in the World Cup Final, Hurst definitely knows a thing or two about glory.
Substitute Chloe Kelly struck the crucial goal in extra-time for England’s women to rewrite history and win their first European Women’s Championship at a sold out Wembley on Sunday.
Football icon Sir Geoff told Kyle the women have been “a tremendous inspiration even before they got to the final”.
He said: “It was always going to inspire many many young girls in this country whether we won or lost.

“But now going on to win it of course it has been absolutely magnificent.
“This win yesterday was another giant step for women’s football and for young girls to be inspired and get involved playing football at four or five years of age. Fantastic.”
Speaking about Ella Toone’s goal that opened the scoring, Sir Geoff labelled the finish “absolutely top-class”.
He added: “You would not get a better finish from a man for that goal it was absolutely fantastic. What a way to open your account.”
Sir Geoff also gave an interesting insight into the different emotions of the game as a player and fan.
He said: “The strange thing is you’re probably more excited watching a great game like that than playing in the final.
“When you’re playing in the game you’re so focused on the game itself you’re not aware of the atmosphere or the tension.
“It’s when you actually become a fan and you’re watching it you become quite excited.”
Jeremy Kyle filling in for Piers Morgan, had earlier quipped about the Talk TV host’s absence saying: “He’s locked his dressing room, the pre-show delivery of raw steak has been cancelled and I’m not even allowed to sit in his chair.”
