John Greenewald archives a “DOD News” press release basically summarizing the Pentagon’s December 16th press conference. In lieu of an awaited Politico article from his “presence” there, we’re linking to Bryan Bender’s twitter thread Pentagon Officials Briefed Reporters Today…. On another USG initiative on the subject, The Observer argues in Empty Bleachers: NASA Plays Pretend with UFOs and We Spend Other People’s Money. Basically, don’t count on anything probative from NASA’s study—at least, anything soon, and shame on NASA (and certain media folks) for their stance towards ufology As It Is. But other than David Marler and other ufologists’ initiative getting kudos here, other efforts are getting notice. Take Baptiste Friscourt’s December 19th The Debrief coverage of the October 16th “International Symposium on UAP Research” for an example of what can happen if governments act seriously with serious researchers. See Astronauts, Historians, Scientists, and Officials Convene to Discuss Stigmas Surrounding UAP. And Bryan Sentes previews Limina’s Inaugural Symposium 2023. Bryan sketches the virtual-only February symposium’s goals and links to its uber-impressive speakers’ list and registration process. (WM)
