Throughout the course of human history, Homo Sapiens have coexisted with other hominids over the same geological periods. Pygmy Theory postulates that at least some of those hominids were of a diminutive stature that was not the result of dwarfism. For example, science and folklore recognize, on Flores, the existence of a small humanoid living in caves. This is expanded upon further in European Pygmies 2 with the discovery of the remains of the Swiss Neolithic Pygmies of 1894. The hominids discovered possessed brachycephalic skulls and were subsequently referred to as Homo Contractus. Discoveries of living pygmies have taken place throughout history in Africa and France and have resulted in both compelling research and folkloric tales. No doubt it’s their ability to remain isolated that has prevented their assimilation and disappearance as living records of evolution. (CM)
