From ‘End of an Era’ to the end of her retirement, Iggy Azalea is ready to press “play” on a new album after a yearlong hiatus from the music scene.
As reported here, Azalea dropped jaws when she took to press to announce her last studio album, 2021’s ‘End of an Era,’ would be her last (citing the desire to focus on motherhood and other business ventures as the reason for the unexpected exit).
In the time since, the GRAMMY nominee embarked on a North American tour with fellow rapper Pitbull.
Apparently the warm reception on the jaunt was just the catalyst needed to reignite Iggy Iggz’ passion for music as she took to Twitter recently to confirm she’s cooking up new tunes for the new year.
Details inside:
The 32-year-old sent her faithful fans, affectionately called #Azaleans, into a frenzy Monday (August 8) when she confirmed she will be delivering some new bops.
“A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted,” she started the post. “But what I’ve learned is that even when I’m minding my business, y’all gonna be negative AND nosy. So if I can’t have peace, neither can you. I’m coming back. Cry about it.”
Adding to the excitement were retweets from producer J. White Did It (born Anthony Jermaine White), which some fans believe suggests he will be involved in the making of her comeback project.
White – the craftsman behind megahits like Cardi B‘s ‘Bodak Yellow’ and ‘I Like It’ as well as Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Savage’ – is also the mastermind behind Azalea’s own ‘Started’ and ‘Sally Walker.’
But while buzz around the forthcoming is already brewing, Iggy was sure not to promise too much too early.
Welcome back Iggy! We can’t wait to see what’s coming.
