‘Caught Out There’ hitmaker Kelis found herself caught in a swarm of stings from Beyonce fans (affectionately called the #Beyhive) last week when she spoke out against the music megastar for allegedly sampling her hits ‘Get Along with You’ and ‘Milkshake’ without permission.
Originally listed as one of many contributors to the July 29-released album ‘Renaissance,’ Kelis not only confirmed she was unaware of the listing before the public she also suggested Bey was a thief for securing use of the two songs from The Neptunes (their writers and producers) instead of consulting her.
And while her commentary ignited a polarizing debate about artists’ rights and fair use, the hoopla eventually led Beyonce to remove the Kelis interpolation all together from the album’s track ‘Energy.’
Look inside to see the energy Kel brought to the yard when she learned about the axing.
As we reported here, Spotify and TIDAL now boast a new version of ‘Energy’ – complete without any reference to “Milkshake” after Kelis made headlines for suggesting the song was ‘stolen.’
“My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding,” Kelis wrote at the time.
Once news of the removal made headlines, a number of critics rushed to Kel’s social media handles to gloat. Look below to see how she responded to their comments (courtesy of TSR).

As seen in the post above, one commenter even told the singer/songwriter/media personality/professional chef that now she can “go back to BBQ sauce.”
Her reply? “Oh absolutely lol #winning.”
