The charismatic pair from London were looking for a character property in Sussex with a budget of £500,000.
Colin and Robin failed to find a house they liked and, in a 2014 catch up, were shown living in a rental property in Steyning, West Sussex.
But towards the end of the show, Phil travelled back to the quaint town in 2021 for another catch-up – and it was revealed Colin had tragically died.
Viewers learned that he had passed away in 2018 after being diagnosed with a cruel degenerative disease.

During Colin and Robin’s initial search in 2012, the picky pair were shown dismissing all the houses Phil and Kirstie showed them.
The couple refused to even step foot in one property, which was a former church.
By the end of the show, Phil was seen bidding them farewell after they failed to find anything they liked.
In Wednesday’s episode, fans were shown Colin and Robin living happily in a rental property – a folly – called the Roundhouse in 2014.
They thanked Phil for encouraging them to spread their search into West Sussex during their experience on the show two years previously.
But although Robin had finally purchased a home for £800,000 in Phil’s 2021 recap, he was living there alone.
He told Phil he had only recently bought the property, having returned to London when Colin was ill.
“Every room had a view of the river,” he said, when talking about their home in the city. “Someone who is ill and stuck in bed needs a view like that.”
