NASA replaces Artemis 1’s leaky fuel seals
NASA has completed a critical repair of its next-generation Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. On Friday, engineers replaced the leaky seal that forced the agency to scrub its most recent attempt to launch Artemis 1. On September 3rd, a fitting on one of the fuel lines to the SLS began leaking hydrogen. Ground crew at Kennedy Space Center tried to troubleshoot the problem three times, only for the leak to persist and force NASA to call off the launch attempt. On Friday, engineers also replaced the seal on a 4-inch hydrogen “bleed line” that was responsible for a smaller leak during an earlier August 29th launch attempt.
Engineers have replaced the seals associated with the hydrogen leak detected during the #Artemis I launch attempt on Sept. 3. The teams will inspect the new seals over the weekend and assess opportunities to launch: https://t.co/dT8A4UEkvdpic.twitter.com/xXzwbYOxMp

With the new gaskets in place, NASA plans to conduct a fueling test to verify they’re working as intended. The dry run will see engineers attempt to load the SLS with all 736,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and oxygen it would need during a regular flight. NASA hopes to successfully complete that test as early as September 17th. “This demonstration will allow engineers to check the new seals under cryogenic, or supercold, conditions as expected on launch day and before proceeding to the next launch attempt,” the agency said.
On Thursday, NASA announced it was targeting September 23rd for another go at putting Artemis 1 into space, with September 27th as a backup. Whether it can make those dates will depend on next week’s fueling test and a decision from the US Space Force. Flight regulations require that NASA test the battery of Artemis 1’s flight termination system every 20 days. That’s something it can only do within the Kennedy Space Center’s Vehicle Assembly Building. The Space Force previously granted the agency an extension on the 20-day deadline. NASA has now asked for another waiver.

Radio 1’s Charlie Hedges embraces ‘post pregnancy belly’ and tells new mums ‘who cares’
RADIO 1 DJ Charlie Hedges has show off her “post baby belly” to show the world what is “normal” following childbirth.
Charlie, 36, gave birth to a little girl called Summer-Rose less than three weeks ago and is “embracing” her body.

Taking to Instagram, the new mum shared a selfie taken as she posed in the mirror.
Charlie is wearing a pretty floral dress in the snap and is gently holding her tummy while smiling at the camera.
Posting it on her Stories, she wrote: “And yessss post pregnancy bellies are normal ladies….embrace it. I love mine and we have all the time in the world to exercise (if you even want to) who cares.”
Charlie finished her post with a red heart emoji.

Two weeks ago, Charlie revealed her and partner Lee’s baby news on the social media site.
Sharing a sweet picture of them both holding little Summer-Rose’s hand, she said: “’Soul of my Soul, And God created Woman’ Our beautiful Summer-Rose was born Saturday 13th August 2022. Life is complete.
“AND… she was born to…. in true Dance Anthems style….Calvin Harris – Summer!!!! Literally as the tune drops she arrives into the world.”
She has since treated herself to a post baby massage but admitted she found it tough leaving her baby girl.

“Left the house for an hour today to have a little massage…cried when I got there, so weird being away from bubba,” Charlie said.
“But so glad I did it, good for both of us and for daddy to have some time to himself with her alone too.”
Charlie first announced her baby news in March on the radio.
As Radio 1 breakfast host Greg James asked her to share some good news with him, Charlie dropped the bombshell: “I’m having a baby.”
As the music cut, a stunned Greg replied: “You… what are you talking about?”
“You’re having a baby! Are you joking? What are you talking about?”
Charlie then stood up to show off her bump, and said: “I’m having a baby Greg! Surprise!”
Charlie hosted the KISS FM Breakfast Show for 10 years with Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom.

Here’s 7 minutes of The Last Of Us: Part 1’s remake
The Last Of Us Part I’s remake is heading to PlayStation 5 on September 2nd, which I assume is of modest interest if you want to play Joel and Ellie’s story over from the beginning with prettier graphics. It’s more interesting to us in PC land because it’ll be the first time the heart-and-zombie smasher makes its way to PC – albeit “very soon” after its console release.
Below, a new seven-minute clip of the remaster in action.
