How Battlefield 2042 Is Returning to Its Classic Class System in Update 3.2
The Class System is back in Battlefield after Battlefield 2042 launched without the classic system in place. With Battlefield’s 3.2 update launching next week, the 2042 Specialists will be organized into four classes and the equipment they’re able to use are being redistributed and adjusted.
Battlefield’s four returning classes are Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer. Unlikeat launch where you could play any Specialist and use any equipment you liked, the classes will now assign you gear to use in these specific classes. You can still use any weapon you like but each class has a different proficiency in weapon types.
Assault
- Specialists: Mackay, Dozer, Sundance, Zain
- Weapon Proficiency: Assault Rifles with three extra magazines
- Gadget: Smoke Grenade Launcher, IBA Armor Plate, C5 Explosive, M18 Claymore
- Equipment: Med Pen (self-administered emergency medical booster)
Engineer
- Specialists: Boris, Crawford, Lis
- Weapon Proficiency: LMG with improved accuracy while crouched or prone
- Gadget: Anti-Tank Mine, Recoilless M5, FXM-33 AA Missile, C5 Explosive, FGM-148 Javelin, EOD Bot
- Equipment: Repair Tool (Utility welder that repairs most vehicle damage)
Support
- Specialists: Falck, Angel, Irish
- Weapon Proficiency: SMG with faster draw time
- Gadget: Ammo Crate, Medical Crate, Smoke Grenade launcher, M18 Claymore
- Equipment: Defibrillator (Portable life support device that revives downed friendlies to full health)
Recon
- Specialists: Paik, Casper, Rao
- Weapon Proficiency: Sniper Rifles with immediate and constant steady scope
- Gadget: T-UGS, Tracer Dart Gun, C5 Explosive, M18 Claymore, Prox Sensor, SOFLAM
- Equipment: Insertion Beacon (Allows friendlies to spawn on the beacon location)
Each specialist still has their own unique abilities like Engineer Crawford having the Specialist Gadget Mounted Vulcan and his Specialist Trait Critical Repair and Assault Sundance having her Specialist Gadget Smart Explosives and her Specialist Trait Wingsuit.
It’ll be a bit interesting to see the class system come back after its absence from Battlefield 2042 was a huge point of criticism for a long time. That was one of my biggest issues preventing me from truly enjoying the game when it launched and after even with the updates. There will be balancing changes as this system rolls out but this Class System is in place for the future with new class gadgets coming in the next seasons.
Along with the Class System implementation, there’s been a rework to the map Breakaway with better cover between flags, some points of interest adjustments in location, and an overall visual update. This major update will drop next week so make sure your game is updated!

League of Legends Worlds 2022: DRX Triumphs Over T1 3-2
In a thrilling conclusion, League of Legends Worlds saw the underdog DRX win the international championship in San Francisco this weekend. The beautiful opening ceremony at The Chase Center showcased just why League Worlds is called the Superbowl of Esports. The artist line up of Lil Nas X, Edda Hayes, Louis Leibfried, and Jackson Wang was a brilliant show of talent and production as the hype continued to build around Worlds 2022. In case you missed the incredible Worlds conclusion, don’t worry, we’ll get you up to speed.

The ongoing storyline of T1’s Faker trying to secure his Worlds win again after his last in 2016 while DRX’s Deft had a ten year journey to reach Worlds set up the stage for a tough battle between the two teams. T1 took Game 1 pretty easily with very little resistance as they were able to secure a 10k gold lead above DRX and take out all three inhibitors and finish the game fairly quickly.
In game 2, DRX came crawling back even though T1 had some incredible team fights with Keria leading a 2v3 team fight and coming out on top. DRX was able to drag out the game and win the second game. Game 3 saw a similar match speed as DRX seemed to have finally woken up and gave T1 a run for their money. T1 was able to steal Baron from DRX twice, which led to their victory for Game 3.

Game 4 saw DRX finally securing a Baron kill for themselves with T1 failing to steal it and proceeded to send the grand finals into an exhilarating Game 5. Honestly Game 5 was anyone’s game with even performances from both teams. DRX wiped four members of T1 but T1 came back to steal their Baron yet again. However, DRX secured the next Baron and while Faker did try to take down their Nexus solo during that Baron fight, he was punished for it and DRX was able to utilize the Baron buff to push into T1’s base and win Game 5, securing Worlds for them.

Worlds 2022 was an incredible story rewarding the underdogs for giving the behemoths T1 a nail biting run in the finals as DRX won 3-2 over the more experienced team. The Chase Center was fully sold out in attendance and the viewership broke peak records as Twitch had 2.8 million viewers and YouTube had 1.7 million on Riot Games’ official channels. Riot broke their previous record of 4 million viewers last year by a new record of 5.1 million, according to Esports Charts.
Congratulations to DRX for an incredible 2022 League run and we look to both DRX and T1 for more incredible things in the 2023 season. For more League of Legends news, stay right here at IGN.
