Civ 6 becomes a relaxing 4X game in this free RTS with a playable demo
I love Civilization 6 as much as the next person, but sometimes playing it really stresses me out. There’s so much to manage and keep an eye on! An upcoming new idle RTS called CivIdle streamlines some of that Firaxis charm by turning the whole thing into a hexagon engine.
Fantasy 4X sequel Age Of Wonders 4 is out now
Is there worse box art than that for the first Age Of Wonders, back in 1999? Probably – but I still wouldn’t have seen it and bet on the series continuing 24 years later.
Yet here we are. Age Of Wonders 4 is out today.

SpellForce: Conquest of Eo – 4X evolved – Exterminate
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is the latest in the series of 4X games from THQ Nordic and Owned by Gravity, which combines the tactical depth of traditional strategy games with the fantastical worlds of fantasy RPGs.
Age Of Wonders 4 is 4X fantasy with the scope and breadth of a D&D RPG
Somehow, it’s been almost a decade since the last numbered Age Of Wonders game. Despite dipping their toes into the sci-fi realm with Age Of Wonders: Planetfall three-odd years ago, developers Triumph are now returning to their fantastical 4X strategy roots with Age Of Wonders 4, due out on PC in just a couple of months on May 2nd – and what a homecoming it’s shaping up to be. I’ve spent the better part of a week and half playing an early build of AOW 4, getting to grips with its enormous array of customizable factions and hero types in its generous crop of single-player realm maps.
There’s a heck of a lot to get through, but rest assured: this is Age Of Wonders through and through – and thanks to the addition of those new, customizable factions, it’s also the most RPG-like entry yet, which is good news for budding D&D-ers looking for a grand, 4X strategy game to sink their teeth into. Heck, I’d even go as far as saying it could be one of this year’s biggest and most exciting fantasy games outside of Baldur’s Gate 3.
The superb quickplay 4X Ozymandias has almost no deposit
Quickplay strategy games have always been a thing, but they appear to be gaining in popularity lately. I will probably regret not keeping Ozymandias aside for the traditional “summer strategy game for when your brain is a gas” bit, but the scene is looking healthy enough to chance it.
You know that cliché feeling of “just one more turn”? Ozymandias is a bronze age 4X that builds momentum enough to turn that into “just one more game”. It is incredibly easy to learn, and despite looking a little dry and number heavy, becomes more effortless, more pleasant the longer you play. It also becomes more clear how much depth there is hidden away in such a light design. It’s about proving yourself the most prestigious civilisation, not through total conquest, but by exploiting the lay of the land, and leaning into your strengths.

I’m a plus-size 4X – I bought the viral jumpsuit from Kim Kardashian’s Skims, I was skeptical but people are obsessed
KIM Kardashian’s clothing line is known for its high quality, and equally high prices.
A curvy creator was surprised after purchasing a viral Skims item.
Plus-size TikTok user @MykasCloset shared her thoughts on a popular Skims jumpsuit.
Myka modeled the all-in-one shine mock neck onesie with long sleeves, $74.
The influencer admitted that she wasn’t too sure about the purchase at first, but changed her mind after trying it on.
“Obsessed is an understatement,” the TikToker captioned her video.
She detailed: “These bodysuits snatch me. I love the material because instead of the cotton material, it’s like satin. It’s a little more shiney.
“Also excited because the zipper is at the front and the other one had the zipper at the back, and I was struggling,” Myka added.
The influencer shared that she planned to wear the jumpsuit with leg warmers and a puffer vest during the winter.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the jumpsuit.
“OMG obsessed,” said one impressed viewer.
Another follower wrote: “I was skeptical seeing it at first but it looks so good on you!!! I want one.”
“Okayyyy you’ve convinced me,” commented a third person.
