THE first British baby to have three parents has been born, it emerged last night.
Doctors used a pioneering IVF procedure aimed at preventing infants developing incurable inherited diseases.

In mitochondrial donation, 99.8 per cent of the baby’s DNA is from the mother and father.
But a small amount of tissue is added from the eggs of a healthy female donor.
No details on the parents or baby have been given, but research has been carried out at the Newcastle Fertility Centre since ministers gave the green light in 2015.
Critics claim it opens the door to “designer babies”.
But supporters insist it will allow thousands of UK women carrying deadly diseases to give birth safely.
The UK’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority has approved at least 30 more cases
BIGFOOT WITH ‘BABY’ Sighting Prompted Witness to Call County Dispatch
A Bedford County, Virginia woman said her story was no joke. She called the Sheriff’s Office about Bigfoot. The woman said she had just moved to the area in 2014 and did not want to get a reputation with her new neighbors.
“I know this is going to sound crazy,” said the woman in a call to Bedford County dispatch on September 9.
The woman told the dispatcher she was driving up Route 43, toward the Peaks of Otter, around 11:40 p.m. on September 9, 2015. She said her headlights hit something strange past Turkey Mountain Road, just before the first bridge. This is part of her conversation with a dispatcher on September 11.
Caller: “I know this is going to sound crazy, but I went back and checked and there were prints, a Bigfoot with a baby.”
Dispatcher: “There were what?”
Caller: “It was a Bigfoot with a baby.”
After assuring the dispatcher she hadn’t been drinking, the woman offered no explanation why she waited two days to call. She says she went back in daylight.
Caller: “I did see some footprints and the stride was longer than anything I could make.”
The woman says the creature’s footprint was bigger than her two feet together, end to end. She wears a size 8 shoe. She says the creature was holding its baby the way a human would.
Caller: “The baby was looking right at me.”
She later said that the baby looked just like Chewbacca from “Star Wars”.
Caller: “Have you ever gotten other reports like this?”
Dispatcher: “I’ve never had a call like this in my life.”
The dispatcher told the woman he’s worked in dispatch for 10 years.
A deputy checked out the area and didn’t see anything.
The woman said she knows they were not bears. No one can explain what she witnessed.

Rio Ferdinand kisses wife Kate as he cups her blossoming baby bump at his Premier League Hall of Fame induction
RIO Ferdinand looks like he is getting a kick out of cupping wife Kate’s blossoming baby bump with his hand.
The pair posed as former England footie ace Rio, 44, was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in London.
Ex-Towie star Kate, 31, expecting a sister for their little boy, is also stepmum to Rio’s three children with late first wife Rebecca.
The former centre-back – who also represented West Ham, Leeds United and QPR in his career – was selected after a vote by fans across the world from a 15 person shortlist.
Ferdinand became the 17th player to join the Hall of Fame after eight legendary stars were inducted in both 2021 and 2022.
He joins Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger in the ‘Class of 2023’, with the two Premier League icons the first managers to be inducted.
Ferdinand is one of the greatest top flight defenders of all time, winning six Premier League titles and racking up 504 appearances.
Reflecting on his achievement, a delighted Ferdinand told the Premier League: ‘As a defender, I’m not used to celebrating personal glory – we leave that to the midfielders and strikers!”
Rio and Kate exchanged vows in front of 180 friends and family on the sun-drenched shores of Marmaris, Turkey, in September 2019.
The ceremony was held at a five star resort that costs between £300 and £5000 a night for a room.
The 196-room hotel is surrounded by stunning ocean and mountain views and The Sun revealed that friends and family flew out early to enjoy its perks.
Kate enjoyed a raucous hen party in Mykonos in June 2019 – just over seven months from getting engaged.
Serena Williams makes shock pregnancy announcement at Met Gala and debuts baby bump in pics with husband Alexis Ohanian
TENNIS legend Serena Williams has announced that she is expecting her second child.
The 41-year-old recently retired former world number one subtly revealed the news on Instagram.
In a series of shots in her stunning Met Gala outfit, Williams could be seen with a distinct baby bump which she cradled in one of the snaps.
She captioned the images: “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”
Williams’ Instagram has been flooded with congratulatory messages since announcing the news on Monday evening.
These include follow former tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, singer Ciara, actresses Tabitha Brown and Storm Reid, and former Olympian Lindsey Vonn.
Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first child, five-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., in 2017.
The couple has been together since late 2015, eventually tying the knot in 2017.
A 23-time singles Grand Slam Champion and fourteen-time doubles Grand Slam Champion, Williams retired from the sport in September 2022 following her exit from the U.S. Open.
And during a recent appearance on “Person to Person” with Norah O’Donnell, she admitted that she was “definitely” missing tennis.
Williams said: “It doesn’t feel like it been that long.
“But yeah, I miss playing, I’ve been doing it my entire life. So I think it will be something I will forever, always miss.”
She may miss playing, but Williams still has a busy schedule.
The soon-to-be mother of two is also a successful businesswoman, working as the CEO of venture capital firm Serena Ventures, and the owner of fashion brand S By Serena.
