Halo Infinite’s Winter Update Is Bringing Heaps Of Weapon Balance Changes
343 Industries has revealed more about the Halo Infinite Winter Update that’s scheduled to drop on November 8, this time introducing a whole lot of weapon balance fixes that’ll be coming to the sandbox mode. A few weapons will be getting buffs to encourage players to use them more, while overperforming weapons will see small nerfs–here’s what’s changing.
Community manager Unyshek explains in the blog post that 343 has started looking at weapon balance in Halo Infinite’s sandbox now that players are a little more familiar with the gameplay. Looking at both player feedback and hard data on how weapons are getting used in game, six of Halo Infinite’s weapons are getting tweaked for better or for worse.
The Plasma Pistol and Disruptor are both getting upgrades that 343 hopes will increase their use and effectiveness in game, while the Pulse Carbine and VK78 Commando have both been tweaked to increase effectiveness at shorter ranges. In line for a nerf this update are both the BR75 and Frag Grenade, which will be getting minor downgrades in the interest of competitiveness. The full dev notes on balance changes and the rationale behind them can be read on 343’s blog.

Overwatch 2 Will Receive Balance Changes On November 15, Far Earlier Than Expected
Overwatch 2 will receive its first major hero balance patch on November 15, Blizzard has announced, far earlier than the previously announced balance changes scheduled to come with the game’s second multiplayer season.
Blizzard originally stated major balance changes would not be coming until Season 2 (which is slated to start in early December), as “no hero’s overall power level is far out of line with our goals.” It seems a lot has changed in the two weeks since that post, as now Blizzard is looking at making changes to five heroes ahead of Season 2’s arrival.
In a post on the Overwatch 2 forums, community manager AndyB outlined changes coming to some “standout” heroes in the current Overwatch 2 meta. Those heroes include Genji, Zarya, D.Va, Sombra, and Kiriko, who will all be receiving nerfs come November 15.
Overwatch 2 will alter Hero balance ahead of schedule
Overwatch 2 developers Blizzard previously said that players would need to wait until season two for balance changes, but they’ve now changed their minds. “There are some Hero balance adjustments we’d like to make sooner,” and it includes tweaks to heroes D.va, Zarya, Genji, and Sombra.
If you were hoping for any Overwatch 2 balance changes then you’ll have to wait until season two
Overwatch 2 won’t be seeing any significant rebalances to its roster of heroes until the free to play shooter enters its second season in early December, Blizzard have confirmed. The game’s developers shared a blog post updating players on how the company are monitoring gameplay, maps, and competitive rankings in the immediate post-launch period. There will, however, be a targeted adjustment to tank Zarya in the next major patch going live on October 25th, Blizzard said.
