The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra is a portable powerhouse — here’s how to pre-order it
PRE-ORDER: The new Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra laptop is set for release on Feb. 24, though you can reserve one ahead of time directly from Samsung from $1,899. You get $50 in Instant Credit to spend as well as a free storage upgrade from 512GB to 1TB at no extra cost.
The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra is Samsung’s most powerful laptop yet.
Introduced during the Samsung Unpacked event in early February, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra is essentially the brand’s answer to Apple’s MacBook Pro, with discrete graphics and high-end processors that put it on par with other premium laptops as well.
You can lock in your own Galaxy Book3 Ultra right now directly from Samsung to receive it by its release date of Feb. 24. Doing so will net you $50 in Instant Credit to spend however you like via Samsung’s digital storefront. You’ll also get a free storage upgrade from 512GB to 1TB.
But what are you getting with your preorder? The Galaxy Book3 Ultra’s base model boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of SSD storage (with a free 1TB upgrade when pre-ordered through Samsung). It also features the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU and a 16-inch screen with an eye-popping 3K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
With its aluminum body, expansive selection of ports (including USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, and microSD), and built-in full HD webcam, this is truly a laptop that can do it all, and a fantastic alternative to Apple’s MacBook Pro 16-inch option.
If you’re looking for a great portable workstation or just a high-end PC to tackle your favorite games, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra seems like it’ll have you covered.

The Galaxy Book3 Ultra Is Samsung’s Shot At the MacBook Pro
I was able to use a number of Samsung’s continuity features, including Second Screen (which allows you to easily use a Galaxy Tab as a second monitor) and Quick Share (which allows you to quickly transfer images and other files between Samsung devices). For Samsung enthusiasts, those seem like handy features that aren’t too much of a hassle to set up. The one feature I had issues with was the touchpad — it registered some of my two-finger clicks as one-finger clicks and wasn’t quite picking up all of my scrolls. The units in Samsung’s demo area were preproduction devices, so I hope this is a kink Samsung can iron out before the final release.
Unfortunately, we don’t yet know how it will stack up when it comes to battery life. The M2 generation of MacBooks is very strong on that front — and given that the Galaxy Book3 Ultra is running a high-resolution screen, a power-hungry H-series processor, and a very power-hungry RTX GPU, I’m a little bit nervous about that. If Samsung can pull off a device that lasts nearly as long as Apple’s do, given those factors, hats off to them. Further reading:

Samsung Launches Galaxy Book3 Ultra With OLED Display, S Pen and 2-in-1 Form Factor
The Galaxy Book3 Ultra includes a 13th-generation Intel Core i9 processor and an NVIDIA RTX Geforce 4070 GPU, and it features Samsung’s Dynamic OLED 2x display, previously used for Galaxy smartphones. The display has a 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, and it is available in a 16-inch size.
There’s an AI Noise Canceling feature to reduce background noise on calls and Samsung’s Studio Mode offers lighting correction, auto framing, and eye contact correction for video meetings. The notebook also features a quad speaker system.
Samsung is also introducing the Book3 Pro 360 and the Book3 Pro, two more affordable PC options. The Galaxy Book3 Pro also includes the same OLED display technology, and it is available in 14 and 16-inch sizes, while the Book3 Pro 360 has a 360 display and a 16-inch display size.
The new notebooks include Samsung Multi Control, a feature that is designed to allow Samsung users to control a PC, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy smartphone with the Galaxy Book3 keyboard and trackpad, similar to the multi-device control that Apple offers between the iPad and the Mac.
The new Galaxy Book3 Ultra, Book3 Pro, and Book3 Pro 360 are available for pre-order starting today, with Samsung set to launch the new machines on February 17.
Pricing on the Galaxy Book3 Pro will start at $1,450, while pricing on the Book3 Pro 360 will start at $1,700. The high-end Ultra model is priced starting at $2,200. If you’re also purchasing a phone from the Galaxy S23 lineup, you can use your bonus Samsung Credit from that purchase an apply it to a Galaxy Book3 order while earning additional Samsung Credit for the Book3 purchase.
