Hospitals have been told to reschedule appointments as soon as possible.
Cancellations which come about after Tuesday are expected to occur only in “exceptional” circumstances.
The delayed operations include hip and knee replacements, hernia repairs, cataract surgeries and cardiac procedures.
Eight in ten NHS trusts already fail to meet targets for seeing suspected cancer patients within two weeks of a GP referral.
And 60 per cent are failing to treat 96 per cent cancer patients within a month, NHS figures show.
It’s estimated more than 100,000 outpatient appointments will be affected, as 100,000 nurses will strike.
76 hospitals and NHS organisations will strike, with many worried of unprecedented pressures on emergency services.
Ministers are refusing the Royal College of Nursing’s demands for an 18 per cent pay rise.
RCN general secretary Pat Cullen, said: “Anger has become action – our members are saying enough is enough.
“We will no longer tolerate a financial knife-edge at home and a raw deal at work.”

Hospital warning to Brits ahead of nightmare winter that could see operations cancelled and cancer treatment delayed
HOSPITAL bosses fear their worst ever winter as nurses strike and waiting lists continue to grow.
Some 85 per cent of chief execs say they’ve never been more worried — and half predict their NHS trust will miss surgery and cancer targets.

Many warn staff are “frightened” by the expected surge in demand ahead of possible walkouts by nurses and industrial action votes by doctors, paramedics, midwives, therapists and porters.
Last month saw England’s worst ever performance on A&E, ambulance time and cancer appointment targets.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies predicts the waiting list — now 7.1million — will hit 8 million unless clinics speed up.
Saffron Cordery, chief of NHS Providers, which carried out the poll, said: “We have to push for the Government to get around the table with the unions, either averting strike action before it happens or entering into negotiations now.”

Researcher Max Warner said waiting lists will grow if the NHS keeps “failing to translate additional resources into additional activity”.
Hospitals have been told to clear all patients who have been on the list for 18 months or more by April 2023.

The early days of Warner Bros. being acquired by Discovery saw the abrupt cancellation of two films that were well on their way to being done: Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. Both films were killed simultaneously as part of WB Discovery’s efforts to cut costs following the merger, but understandably, it’s Batgirl’s …

Ubisoft has shared an update directly to its blog regarding the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in light of customer pre-orders being cancelled.
Yeah, that’s right. Pre-orders of the remake are being cancelled and costs refunded back to keen fans. The update, which was last updated November 7, says that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is “not cancelled”. Ubisoft also then says that the game is currently still in development at Ubisoft Montreal.
The update continues, with Ubisoft adding that, “since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable.”

Cancelled Stadia-exclusive Death Stranding sequel never existed, says Hideo Kojima

Despite previous reports, according to head-honcho Hideo Kojima himself, a Death Stranding sequel exclusive to Google Stadia was never going to happen.
Back in September a report emerged claiming that at some point in time, a Death Stranding sequel of some sort was in development for the Stadia, but was ultimately cancelled by Google Stadia’s general manager Phil Harrison as the company believed there wasn’t a market for single player games any more. Well, that report was wrong by the sounds of it, as during the 10th episode of his Brain Structure podcast, Kojima put speculation to bed (thanks, GamesRadar).
“How do you react to that?” Kojima asked hypothetically about the numerous things that players come to him with. “Users send me stuff like this directly, like ‘word is going around about so and so.’ It’s constant, almost every day, and I don’t know where the original source came from, so I can’t say much about it.”

The Callisto Protocol cancelled in Japan as devs refuse censorship requests

We’re well aware that The Callisto Protocol is set to revel in death, with there being multiple violent ways of meeting your demise. The game, from Striking Distance Studios, looks to recapture the essence of Dead Space and truly terrify its players, that’s for certain.
It appears that not everyone who may be anticipating the title will be able to jump in as of December 2, with The Callisto Protocol’s release being cancelled in Japan. The decision was announced via the official Japanese Twitter account for The Callisto Protocol, embedded below (in Japanese, obviously).
Fortunately, PCGamer have translated the tweet, which reads: “It was decided that modifying the game to obtain a rating would not provide the experience players expected. The CERO rating could not be obtained.”
