Celebrations hints at massive u-turn on Bounty sweets – but choc fans are already furious and call it a ‘complete stunt’
Chocolate lovers have dubbed the move to scrap Bounty a “PR stunt” as the new advert implies a comeback for the coconut chocolate.
While the chocolatier hasn’t confirmed or denied if Bounty is going to make an official comeback to the tubs, it does seem more likely than not.
Celebrations released its Christmas video for 2022 today, November 9.
It follows Mr Bounty who is left alone in the woods after being dumped from the tub.
He’s found by an elderly woman who takes him in and cares for him but before too long he gains the confidence to go home after a public appeal for him to return.
The advert ends with him back with his fellow Celebrations friends like Mars, Snickers and Galaxy.
The advert is accompanied by a song which poses the idea that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
The advert asks viewers to show their support for the shunned chocolate by Tweeting their thoughts with #BringBackBounty.
But even before the advert was released, fans were already speculating if the trial to dump Bounty from 2,000 tubs was permanent, with some dubbing it a PR stunt.
One person tweeted: “Celebrations lying about taking Bounty bars out just for a PR stunt is why I have trust issues with the internet.”

Another said: “More I think about, more I think this is a publicity stunt.
“Celebrations are for sharing and a lot of people like Bounty so why remove them.”
Someone else added: “I honestly reckon Celebrations pulling Bounty is a publicity stunt. they’ll bring it back to get us talking next year.”
Celebrations announced last week that Bounty would no longer feature in 2,000 of its tubs this year.
Extra Mars, Snickers, Milkyway, Teasers and Galaxy have been added to make up for the axed Bounty bars in the limited edition tubs.
From what we saw the majority of fans were devastated by the news, calling for a mutiny.
However, some were overjoyed with the news and said it was wonderful that Bounty was finally being scrapped.
The controversial chocolate bar has divided fans for years.
If Bounty being axed wasn’t enough to wreak havoc amongst chocolate lovers, Celebrations has also changed its wrappers.
Celebrations fans were appalled on Twitter, with one person hinting this news was worse than the axe to Bounty bars.

They said: “Everyone is kicking off about Bounty in Celebrations, [but] when are we going to talk about the AWFUL wrappers?”
Another furious chocolate shopper asked: “Who on earth authorised the new Celebrations wrappers? They are SO tacky!”
Celebrations is making a major change to tubs this Christmas – and it will divide all chocolate fans
MINI-BARS of Bounty will be missing from some tubs of Celebrations this year, after Mars Wrigley decided to banish them.
Extra Mars, Snickers, Milkyway and Galaxy have been added to make up for the axed Bounty bars in the limited edition tubs.

However, only 2,000 Bounty-less tubs will be available at 40 Tesco Christmas Market locations on selected dates.
It’s part of a trial to see if shoppers want to get rid of Bounty’s from tubs permanently.
Customers will have to buy a classic tub from Tesco for £4, weighing 650g, and then swap it for a Bounty-less one.
Emily Owen, head of Celebrations festive cheer, said: “Christmas is the time for giving – but it seems this year, the British public are keen for us to take away…Bounty.”

“Off the back of public demand, we’re trialling taking them out of tubs altogether.
“You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”
The controversial chocolate bar has divided fans for years.
Last year, Mars Wrigley offered to swap unwanted Bounty chocolates for a more-loved Malteser after Christmas.

While in 2020, shoppers were fuming after finding Bounty bars were behind the doors of the Celebrations advent calendar for the first and second day.
It’s not the only festive chocolate favourite to cause controversy this year.
Earlier this year, Nestle revealed that tubs of Quality Street were changing forever as it introduced recyclable packaging for the sweets, axing the iconic shiny wrappers.

Last week, The Sun revealed that tubs this year could be missing one of four popular flavours – fudge, toffee penny, caramel swirl and chocolate block.

Urgent warning to parents this bonfire night as celebrations could cause life-threatening attacks
AN urgent warning has been issued to parents in the run up to this weekend’s bonfire night celebrations.
Experts have warned that many of the 5.4 million people in the UK living with asthma could be at increased risk of a deadly attack on November 5.
Parents have been warned to protect their children this bonfire night if they have asthma[/caption]
A potentially lethal combination of toxic bonfire smoke and chilly wintry air, alongside seasonal colds and viruses that can trigger breathlessness, coughs and wheezing to spike, could leave children – and adults – struggling to catch their breath.
Charity Asthma + Lung UK also warned that those with lung conditions could also be impacted.
This includes people who suffer with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
A survey commissioned by the charity found that 47 per cent said poor air quality made their symptoms worse, with 67.8 per cent saying cold air bought them on.

COPD impacts around 1.4 million across the country and the illness is an umbrella term which causes breathing difficulties and symptoms such as chest tightness and wheezing.
The experts said that temperatures are lower during winter months, meaning those with conditions like asthma or COPD need to take extra precautions to protect themselves.
At present, temperatures in the south of the country are around 16C with northern parts of the country being a couple of degrees cooler.
However, in November last year, around 7,600 Brits were admitted to hospital for emergency care for their asthma symptoms.

Alongside this, the charity said it had more than 2,100 people calling its helpline for help and advice.
The charity said the number of asthma admissions and increase in calls for advice at this time of year are likely due to a combination of cold weather, more viruses and bugs going around, and air pollution, such as that caused by bonfires.
Emma Rubach, Head of Health Advice at the charity said that while fireworks and bonfire displays might be fun, they could land you in hospital if you have asthma.
She said: “Smoke fumes from burning wood and fireworks can linger in the air for hours, creating localised pollution which can cause asthma attacks or lead to a worsening of symptoms such as breathlessness, wheezing and coughing for those with asthma.
The 6 tips you need to know to stay safe this bonfire night
Asthma + Lung UK is urging people with lung conditions to stay well this Bonfire Night by following these top tips:
- Take your preventer medicines as prescribed
- Always carry your reliever inhaler with you
- If you find that smoke is making you cough, stand well back from the fire
- Make sure your friends and family know what to do and when to get help if your asthma symptoms suddenly get worse
- As cold air can be an asthma trigger, wrap a thin scarf loosely over your nose and mouth to warm the air before you breathe it in
- Visit Asthma UK to share the charity’s ‘what to do in an asthma attack’ with friends and family.
“Cold air due to the drop in temperatures can also make symptoms worse, meaning that next week people with asthma or other lung conditions could face a dangerous combination of triggers.
“If you have a lung condition and are worried, the best thing you can do is take your medicines as prescribed, especially your preventer inhaler as this builds up protection in your lungs. We would advise you to consider staying indoors if fireworks have brought on your asthma symptoms before.”
If you are planning on going to a display, then you should take your reliever inhaler with you to relieve symptoms as they come on.

She added that you should educate those you are with on what to do if you have an asthma attack and how they can help you.

Match-winner Chloe Kelly was bleary-eyed this morning[/caption]
There were a few tired faces after the Lionesses partied until 4am with champagne and cocktails at their plush hotel in West London.
Bleary-eyed hero Kelly appeared with her partner Scott Moore this morning and told The Sun it was an “amazing” night.
Wiegman told the Lionesses YouTube channel: “Crazy. Lot’s of drinking, lots of dancing. English people can drink! So a little bit too much alcohol, I think.
“But that’s OK. We are enjoying it. When you have this accomplishment it is really good to have a party.”
Captain Leah Williamson arrived at the hotel carrying a huge speaker but emerged “a little bit rough” on Monday with the iconic trophy in her hands.
And she kept it safe for the coach journey from Teddington to Trafalgar Square, where thousands of fans – especially kids on school holidays – gave them a deserved heroes’ reception.

A spokesperson for CopyBet said: “Football celebrations are one of the best things about the game and the funnier or the more outrageous they get the better.
“It’s great to see a wide range feature in the list of iconic goal celebrations, including classics like Gazza’s ‘dentist chair’ and of course the famous Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Suiii’ jump we saw many times at Old Trafford.
“Now, with the new season taking place, and a World Cup year as well, there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing even more celebrations to add to the collection.”

Despite this, 56 per cent think goal celebrations provide a good insight into a footballer’s character and 38 per cent reckon they have drastically improved in the last decade.
As well as celebrations, football fans have also copied player’s charity work (33 per cent), haircut styles (28 per cent) and certain words or phrases (26 per cent).
