I’m A Celeb’s Carol Vorderman gushes over ‘legend’ Myleene Klass after shock win
Celebs warn MPs women must act like ‘bullies’ fighting for proper menopause care
WOMEN must act like “bullies” to fight for proper menopause treatment, Mariella Frostrup warned MPs.
The TV and radio presenter told the Commons’ Women and Equalities Committee that care is still not good enough.
Mariella, 60, who set up campaign group Menopause Mandate last year, said: “Women of colour and working-class women have to be a bully to be heard when it comes to menopause.
“You have to walk in to your GP and say, ‘I want this, this and this’.
“A society is only as good as the way it elevates those who are in the weakest position.”
Ex Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman, 62, added: “I want the government to say we are going to have a model of menopause policies for the workplace.
“When it comes from the top, all employers will listen and women will be helped and their families will be helped.”
It came as a report by the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch found mental health services are not taking menopause symptoms seriously enough.
Too many women are given anti-depressants when really they need hormone therapy, the report said.
Doctors must be better trained to manage mental health issues in women going through the change, the HSIB said.
The Sun’s Fabulous Menopause Matters campaign has called for women to get more help in the workplace.
Ryan Reynolds, Drew Barrymore, and other celebs respond to their ‘Ted Lasso’ shout-outs
Awards are cool, sure. But have you ever received a shout-out in an episode of Ted Lasso?
If you think football is life, frequently crave biscuits, try to be a goldfish when times get tough, and believe in “Believe,” you’ll likely agree that being referenced in the wholesome sports comedy is one of the highest honors a person can receive.
Like Season 1 of Ted Lasso, Season 2, which started streaming on Apple TV+ July 23, is packed with witty jokes and pop culture references galore. Ted and his Richmond crew love to name drop celebrities, bands, authors, and other noteworthy figures. And because the show is so good, sometimes those celebrities just can’t help but gush over their shout-outs.
Here are a few familiar faces who’ve already responded to their mentions in Ted Lasso Season 2.
1. Lin-Manuel Miranda
This exchange between Coach Lasso and Coach Beard was stunning. But isn’t it even better knowing that at the end of the day even Miranda — an actor, singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, playwright, and so on — knows that football is life? You love to see it.
2. Reba McEntire
Thanks to Ted, Roy Kent used the alias “Reba McEntire” to pick up his Richmond tickets. Reba (aka Red Lasso) shared on Twitter that she couldn’t believe her ears when she heard her name in Season 2, Episode 5, and since then, Ted assured her that if she ever wants to attend a game she can pick her tickets up under the name “Roy Kent.” Adorable.
3. Pearl Jam
Not even the great Pearl Jam could resist getting into the Ted Lasso spirit. You have to admit: That’s inspiring.
4. Drew Barrymore
What’s better than watching Ted Lasso’s speech about believing in rom-communism? Watching rom-com icon Drew Barrymore watch Ted’s rom-communism speech and scream over her shout-out, of course.
5. Diane Sawyer
Seeing legendary broadcast news journalist Diane Sawyer tweet for the first time in over a year to shoot her shot with Ted Lasso? We ship.
6. Brené Brown
Brené Brown, like any true Ted Lasso fan would be, was perfectly cool and chill when she learned about her Season 2 shout-out. No big deal. Nothing to see here, right Coach Beard?
7. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
And of course, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney went to great lengths to respond to their Ted Lasso joke. To recap: Higgins told Rebecca he’d just received a call from AFC Wrexham’s new owners, “showbix magnates,” Reynolds and McElhenney.
“I can’t tell if them buying the club is a joke or not,” Higgins concluded.
For context, the actors and friends co-own the Welsh football club under the company “RR McReynolds,” and per a very official looking letter, they requested that Ted Lasso cease and desist from casting doubt on their ownership. In said letter they also referenced another popular Apple TV+ comedy (Mythic Quest, in which McElhenney stars) and threatened to take legal action if they didn’t receive two large boxes of Ted’s biscuits in a timely manner.
As you would imagine, Ted delivered.
8. Rick Astley
In Episode 10 of the show’s second season, “No Weddings and a Funeral,” Rick Astley’s popular ’80s hit, “Never Gonna Give You Up,” took the spotlight on several occasions. After the episode aired, Astley himself took a break from Rickrolling the people to earnestly share his love of Ted Lasso on Twitter. We don’t want to spoil anything, so just watch.
Hannah Waddingham even slid into Astley’s DMs afterwards. We assume neither of them are ever going to give this up.
Fans are introduced to a new batch of sharp jokes and pop culture references with each new episode of Ted Lasso. Some are glaringly obvious, while others are extremely subtle. But the special few that reach the eyes of the sources who inspired them are perhaps some of the greatest.
We’ll be sure to update the list with any future celebrity responses.
The first 10 episodes of Ted Lasso Season 2 are now streaming on Apple TV+, with new episodes every Friday.
UPDATE: Sept. 27, 2021, 2:11 p.m. EDT This article was updated to include Rick Astley’s response to his song, “Never Gonna Give You Up,” playing on Ted Lasso.
Celebs Are Being Sued for Shilling Expensive Bored Ape NFTs
A class action lawsuit was filed against Yuga Labs, the parent company of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), on Friday, in which investors claimed the company didn’t disclose celebrities’ alleged involvement in promoting and selling NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

I used to work at Centre Parcs & I never understood why celebs would visit – I don’t get the buzz
A FORMER Centre Parcs worker has opened up about their time at the popular destination and said they never understood why celebrities would visit.
The ex-employee has given the inside scoop as to what it’s like behind the scenes at the much-loved holiday spot.
A former Centre Parcs employee has opened up about what it was like working at the holiday destination[/caption]
They had been based at the Woburn Forest branch in the Pancake House[/caption]
Speaking anonymously, the former staffer worked at the Woburn Forest branch, which boasts lush woodland landscapes and activities for the whole family.
They discussed celebrities being on-site, how horrible the insects could get, and how chaotic changeover days were.
The ex restaurant worker, also revealed how far away staff parking was and the one thing they loved was the freebies.
And when it came to celebrities, it wasn’t uncommon to have them as guests, it is claimed.

The former worker told Bedfordshire Live: “When well-known faces were visiting it became a hot topic of discussion, probably helped by most of the staff in the village’s multiple restaurants knowing each other outside of work, with many going to school together.”
They said staff greeted everyone from Premier League footballers and managers to Dragons from Dragons’ Den.
But the ex-worker said while they welcomed the famous faces at the Bedford spot, staff would be confused as to why the celebs were at Centre Parcs and hadn’t gone abroad instead.
They also opened up about insects – and how wasps were the worst.

While at Centre Parcs the person worked at the Pancake House and said that wasps hung around the sticky syrup in summer.
They explained: “As staff, we seemed to spend more time swatting wasps away from guests than actually serving guests, not to mention the chaos that ensued when the wasps got into the kitchen or around the open hatch area.
“It wasn’t uncommon to walk through the restaurant and see at least 10 to 15 trapped under plastic cups.”
The former employee also detailed their busiest times – the days old guests left and new ones arrived.
They said: “For restaurant staff, changeover days are the busiest days.
“All of the people on the last day of their holiday are desperate to get that one final visit to their favourite restaurant in for one final treat for the already-full family.”
One other gripe they had was that staff parking – although free – was not as close as guests parking.
They explained: “Staff parking however is not as conveniently close to the facilities and requires more of a walk to get into work, particularly, like me, when you worked at the opposite end of the village, near the boathouse.
“Despite being told to park in staff parking, it was common for staff to park in guest parking out of convenience, not that I would ever have done such a thing.
“It just seemed to make sense for staff to park closer if possible, we were after all, working.”
And the one thing they loved was the free day passes.
The former employee said: “Staff at Center Parcs are entitled to ‘day passes’ as a benefit of their role, or at least they were when I worked there prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“A day pass was an absolute joy to use, free use of all the activities on site, provided there was availability and discounted prices at restaurants and bars.”

I’m A Celeb’s Boy George and co-stars all smiles as they sail onto the show – not realising horrors that await them
I’M A Celebrity’s stars looked like they were enjoying their usual lives of luxury as they look a water cruise onto the show.
Pop icon Boy George, rugby royal Mike Tindall, TV host Scarlette Douglas and soap star Owen Warner were all shown sailing in Australia.
Mike Tindall was soaking up the Aussie son from the back of the boat[/caption]
Boy George, 61, was seen holding out a hand and was later seen on dry land clutching a seemingly unnecessary umbrella.
Meanwhile Scarlette – no stranger to fine weather thanks to her years on A Place In The Sun – sprawled out on deck.
Mike looked like he was enjoying the experience while Owen was the only star with the good grace to look worried.
It comes after the first batch of celebrities to be introduced were photographed yesterday.
More on I’m A Celeb
DJ Chris Moyles, Loose Women’s Charlene White, England footballer Jill Scott, Love Islander Olivia Attwood and Celebrity Gogglebox’s Babatunde Aléshé were shown together.
While the stars should have found out what the show entails before they signed up, there are a few things they won’t be aware of.
That’s because producers are springing some early – and very nasty -surprises.
First they will take on the vertigo-inducing Walk The Plank challenge, which has already spooked Babatunde.

Then some of them won’t be going to the main camp at all, but somewhere far less hospitable.
Viewers have voted for who they want to take part in the Jungle VIPs task – which isn’t nearly as cushy as it sounds.
Far from being given any special status, the chosen few will be stranded on an island in the Pacific Ocean for their first night.
The celebrities who get the most votes will have to endure brutal conditions before even making it into camp.
