Nicola Bulley’s daughters attend morning clubs & sleepovers with pals to ‘take their mind off’ search for missing mum
NICOLA Bulley’s young daughters have been having sleepovers with friends to “take their minds off” the search for their mum.
The dog walker, 45, vanished after dropping her children off at school in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, on Friday January 27.

Since then there has been no trace of the mum-of-two, leaving her family in agony.
Friends have said Nicola’s girls have been hanging out with pals to keep a sense of normality.
One source told the Mail on Sunday: “It’s to try to retain a sense of routine.
“To take their minds off [what’s happening].”
It comes after Nicola’s broken boyfriend revealed his hope of finding her alive is “stronger than ever”.
In an emotional Facebook post, Nicola’s partner Paul Ansell wrote: “Eight days without you and it feels no more real now than it did on day one.
“The agony continues but the hope is stronger than ever of finding you.
“There is no evidence yet to suggest any scenario over another and all options must be kept wide open.
“Please if anyone still has dash cam footage from the area, particularly along Garstang Road on Friday January 27, and hasn’t yet checked or handed to the police [please do].
“We need her home. We will not entertain any other outcome.
“We need a happy ending to this nightmare.
“Please keep hope and positive vibes high and let’s find Nikki – My beautiful partner and our girls’ amazing mummy.”
Cops yesterday revealed their “main working hypothesis” was that Nicola had “sadly fallen” into the icy River Wyre.
Police explained they thought she may have plunged in while trying to retrieve her dog Willow’s tennis ball.
However Superintendent Sally Riley, of Lancashire police last night said cops found “no evidence of a slip or fall” near the bench where Bulley’s mobile phone was found.

Man Utd and Liverpool MUST spend big in January transfer window… the future of both clubs could depend on it
THE January sales. Three words guaranteed to strike fear into every bloke in the land.
Just when you think the wallet’s survived a Christmas hammering, all of a sudden there are loads more “must-have” bargains to give it another battering.
Erik ten Hag will be hoping for some big signings in January[/caption]
Now Erik ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp aren’t two names you’d think would be waiting for the doors to open with the shopping bags ready.
But this year it is hard to imagine another couple hoping the credit cards will be maxed out quite as much as this pair.
Nothing from the cut-price rail either. Only high-end, top-of-the-range goods will do. None of your slight seconds here, thank you very much.
For the managers of England’s biggest two clubs, it’s proven, grade-A performers on the shopping list and nothing less.
They will cost, for sure, but then again, both Ten Hag and Klopp say they have been promised serious money.
Well now is the time for the moneymen at Old Trafford and Anfield to back up those words with actions.
Because if they don’t, the repercussions could echo way, way beyond what happens over the second half of the season.
They could impact the entire future of the two clubs.
That’s not your typical Sky Sports whip-it-up transfer window baloney, either. This one goes much deeper.
This one comes with both clubs on the market and looking for a buyer.
At a time when they both currently sit outside the top four — with no guarantee of finishing in there, either.
So there will be some very interesting trans-Atlantic conversations over the coming weeks to the offices of the Glazers and John W Henry.
BETTING SPECIAL – BEST FOOTBALL BETTING SITES IN THE UK
There are some massive decisions to be made by the American owners of the Premier League’s big two.
And unless they accept the need to speculate before they can accumulate, they can forget all thoughts of getting anywhere near the eye-watering prices being bandied around.
In United’s case, figures as high as £8billion have been mentioned, while Henry is said to want £5bn for the Reds.
But anyone willing to splash that sort of dough around wants certain guarantees for the money. First and foremost, a seat at football’s top table — the Champions League.
And that is far from certain for at least one, maybe both giants this season.
Manchester City’s place in there is nailed on, so there’s one slot gone, while Arsenal look like they’re in it for the duration.
That leaves two. Spurs are currently in there, and they won’t suddenly plummet, and although Newcastle are still a season or so off being genuine challengers, they’re in the mix.
Chuck Graham Potter’s Chelsea into the equation as well, and the prospect of at least one missing out is more probable than possible.
Ten Hag desperately needs more goals in his side, while Liverpool’s need is for legs and energy in midfield.
The problem they both have is everyone knows it, too, so the price of any target will reflect that.
Of course the Glazers and Henry may believe their clubs are so big that any interested party would not be put off by the thought of Europa League football instead.
If that’s the case they may decide to keep their money in their pockets, rather than spend millions on something they’re trying to get off their hands.
Well good luck to them if so, because that’s one hell of a gamble to take.
It’s all well and good to be fluttering their eyelashes at would-be foreign buyers but if that means losing sight of the job in hand, the consequences could be costly. Very costly.
The rivalry between Anfield and Old Trafford has long been one of the most bitter and hard fought anywhere in football.
Yet never have the stakes been as high as this . . . and unless they have the foresight to realise it, both of them could end up as losers.

Here’s what would have happened in ‘The Midnight Club’s Season 2
Following Netflix’s cancellation of The Midnight Club, show-creator and writer Mike Flanagan has released a statement on what the show’s second season would have looked like.
Based on Christopher Pike’s novel of the same name, The Midnight Club is set in a hospice for terminally ill teenagers, who gather around each night in the hospice’s library to share some spooky stories. The series is a giant love letter to the power of storytelling, and more importantly, friendship in absolving existential woes and coming to terms with inconvenient truths. Like any Flanagan classic, The Midnight Club’s darker themes are conveniently candy-wrapped in a fun, cult-centered mystery with kooky characters to match, and our lovable club members taking us on the ride.
Considering that the show boasted a plethora of plot points, including the state of its characters, the whereabouts of the hospice’s former cult, and the looming threat of death towering above it all, Season 1’s cancellation has obviously left a lot of questions unanswered. But Flanagan has released an in-depth statement on Tumblr going into all the nitty-gritty details of what would have been The Midnight Club’s Season 2.
Many characters were going to die, but they were all going to be alright.

As revealed by Flanagan, Amesh (Sauriyan Sapkota) was going to be the next Brightcliffe patient to pass away, followed by Natsuki (Aya Furukawa), with the couple spending their last few days together in what would have been a surefire audience tearjerker. Meanwhile, Kevin (Igby Rigney) and Ilonka’s (Iman Benson) healths were also going to deteriorate quickly, with the two passing on having shared a short, blissful romantic time together.
On the other hand, Spencer’s (William Chris Sumpter) storyline was actually going to take a twist, thanks to the advent of HIV treatments in the mid-1990s, with him leaving the hospice and no longer being terminal.
While the fates of many of our beloved characters were definitely dark reminders of a reality we wish we could change, The Midnight Club’s second season would have largely followed all of their personal journeys in making peace with their diagnoses: a peace they’d find and welcome, with their memories living on in the stories we share because of them, about them, and for them.
The finale’s split-second plot twist finally has an explanation.

The Midnight Club’s finale surprised us all with a reveal that Dr. Stanton (Heather Langenkamp) was not who we thought she was. As confirmed by Flanagan, she is in fact Athena, the daughter of the Paragon cult leader who began the cult on the hospice’s grounds, with our current cast of characters bearing the brunt of its aftermath years later. Dr. Stanton took over Brightcliffe in an attempt to correct her mother’s wrongs and actually help people instead of, you know, sacrificing them.
Flanagan also revealed that Dr. Stanton was wearing a wig because she also has cancer and is receiving treatment (her treatment would be successful, and she’d go into remission, he noted), elevating her role in the show from a mere mediator to an empath who’s in the same boat as these kids.
The show’s ghosts and shadows aren’t what you think they are.

Remember that creepy black shadow following the kids around that we all thought was death? Well, apparently it wasn’t! The dark shadow was actually an extension of the kids — an ultimate manifestation of their anxieties toward the unknown. On the other hand, the actual embodiment of death in the show was the hospice’s janitor (Robert Longstreet), who only appeared to the kids when they were on the cusp of dying and guided them through it by reassuring them that it was all going to be OK.
Meanwhile, the two other creepy old ghosts lurking in the hospice’s hallways were Stanley Oscar Freelan and his wife, who originally built Brightcliffe. And guess what? They weren’t there to terrorize the kids either! They’re actually iterations of Ilonka and Kevin’s past life, with Flanagan revealing that in a former lifetime Ilonka used to be Stanley Freelan and Kevin used to be his wife. Their souls have met each other in every lifetime since, falling in love all over again. That’s why Ilonka and Kevin were the only two patients seeing the ghosts — it was a reflection of their actual selves. So in true Flanagan fashion, the ghosts were never actually bad, y’all!
Netflix’s ‘The Midnight Club’ review: Deeply moving horror that isn’t afraid to talk about dying
The Midnight Club was a painfully poignant yet powerful piece of television, painting a realistic picture of what having death at your door looks and feels like. Its cancellation is obviously disheartening, but we have Flanagan’s Tumblr post to hold onto while grieving. In the meantime, check out Flanagan’s statement for yourself or watch The Midnight Club on Netflix.
