I waited until midnight to buy three copies of Prince Harry’s book – I felt privileged to be first in line
ONLY seven people bought Prince Harry’s memoir Spare during the WHSmith midnight launch at London Victoria Railway Station – but one customer took three copies.
Store manager Mohammad Alam opened the delivery of hardbacks as the clock turned 12am.

Chris Imafidon said he felt ‘privileged’ to be first in line[/caption]
Professor Chris Imafidon, from Epping, Essex, had been waiting at the station since 9.30pm to get his hands on three copies of the 417-page book.
He told The Sun: “I feel very privileged to be the first in line and I look forward to seeing what Harry has to say about his life.
“The context is everything. I saw the Spanish copy but I really want to see for myself what type of narrative is inside.
“These events need perspective. The Anderson Cooper interview is very different from the Tom Bradby one, for example.”
“I wanted to buy three for family and friends because it’s useful to hear from a young man who has been through a lot.”
Chris, who is chairman of The Excellence in Education charity, added that he is “dazed” by reports of how much detail the duke has gone into about private family moments.
He said: “Why? Why? You don’t need that to sell.
“You would sell a book if you’re Diana’s hat or Diana’s dog or Diana’s… if you’re linked to Diana you will still sell. Why would you go to that distance?
“I really want to know from (the) horse’s mouth,” he said, adding that he hopes the book is in Harry’s first person voice not in the third person.
“I really want to know why the young man would leave the country he loved, he lived in and was ready to die for, because he went to war.”
Meanwhile train maintainer Lloyd Rosser, 64, was buying the book, currently on sale at half price for £14, for a friend.
He said: “She’s a massive royal fan so I thought it would make a nice surprise. Personally, I’m not that fussed. Maybe I’ll give it a read when I can get it cheaper.”
Sarah Nakana, 46, a property surveyor from Dulwich, South London, added: “I’ve already got the audio book on order but just couldn’t wait. It’s very important to hear what he has to say about his life in his own words. This is a historical record.”
The store remained open until 2am, while Euston Railway Station’s WHSmith saw one woman buy two copies at midnight.
Shops inside Gatwick and Heathrow airports also opened at midnight for travellers wanting to read the Duke’s memoir while flying.
It comes after Prince Harry sparked controversy as he promoted the book in interviews with ITV and CBS.
The Duke of Sussex crossed the King’s ‘red line’ by blasting Queen Camilla as “dangerous” and a “villain”.
Body language expert Judi James revealed the key echoes of Princess Diana’s 1995 Panorama interview displayed in Harry’s sit downs with Tom Bradby and Anderson Cooper.

Ubisoft explains how Stadia users can get free PC copies of games
After Google announced Stadia’s shutdown earlier this year, Ubisoft said it would help users transfer their purchases to PC. We got more detail today, as the publisher says it will provide free PC versions of all Ubisoft games bought on Stadia. The publisher also has other perks to make the transition as smooth as possible for jilted users of Google’s platform.
Anyone who bought Ubisoft games on Stadia should see the PC versions of those games appear in their Ubisoft Connect accounts at no extra cost. If your Stadia and Ubisoft accounts aren’t yet linked, connect them before Stadia shuts down on January 18th to get the PC games. Additionally, if you played Ubisoft games with cross-progression (complete list), you can pick up your progress on PC where you left off on Stadia.
Ubisoft notes any unspent virtual currency won’t transfer. Still, if you use it in Stadia before January 18th, the purchased items will move to PC (but only for games supporting cross-progression). Meanwhile, Stadia gamers who subscribed to Ubisoft+ Multi-Access (the company’s plan that lets you play on multiple devices) will receive an email telling them how to sign up directly through the Ubisoft+ website. As a bonus, subscribers will also get a free month of Ubisoft+. The publisher notes that US residents can continue streaming Ubisoft+ games through Amazon Luna, and those living elsewhere will get a discount on Ubisoft+ Multi-Access for six months. Additionally, If you bought or subscribed to any Ubisoft content on Stadia, you’ll receive one free month of GeForce Now Priority.
The perks are on top of Google’s refunds for all game purchases, so Ubisoft’s PC games are a no-charge consolation prize. Investing in a cloud-gaming platform requires customers to trust that their purchases won’t be all for naught if the platform fails, but at least Google and its partners are doing what they can to make it right.
Elden Ring streamer is so good she’s beating two copies at once

Bandai Namco released a Tekken 7 Definitive edition back in 2021, a repackaged edition that includes the base game and all the content from four season passes. In the year since, Bandai Namco has continued to support the game, with additional patches still lined up. Tekken 7’s next patch, patch 5.10, will feature multiple quality-of-life changes. One of these new features is a streaming mode that makes the online ID of opponents private, and instead shows the character name.
However, Tekken 8’s imminent release is only drawer nearer. Tekken 8’s first trailer was officially shown during September’s State of Play. In the teaser, Jin Kazama fights his dad, Kazuya Mishima, while rain dramatically falls from the sky. A second Tekken 8 trailer debuted at The Game Awards, with more clues as to what the story beats might be. Jin’s mother also makes a surprise appearance.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet sells 10 million copies in a matter of days
We were already well aware that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has had the best physical launch in the UK this year, but how has the latest mainline Pokemon instalment done altogether? Nintendo has since announced that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is, in fact, the fastest-selling game in Nintendo’s history.
The game, which introduces Generation 9 of Pokemon, has managed to sell 10 million units globally in both physical and digital sales in its first three days on the market. The press release, which is via Business Wire, states, “This is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the first three days.”
That’s a huge feat for Nintendo, and for the Pokemon franchise on a whole. Since its conception in 1996, mainline Pokemon video games have continued to outsell each other, and the franchise shows no signs of slowing down whatsoever.
