Zero Dawn remaster on the horizon
Next up on the list of remasters that nobody really asked for, Sony Interactive Entertainment might be working on a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for the PlayStation 5. An unnamed source within Sony cited by MP1ST and VideoGamesChronicle pointed to a remastered version of the open-world PlayStation 4 title.
Details on the remaster are scarce at the moment but reportedly include new character models, lighting, and animations. It’s also likely that it will incorporate new accessibility features, quality of life improvements, and compatibility with the DualSense controller, mirroring some of the improvements we saw with the remastered version of The Last of Us, which came out in early September.
Here are some graphical…
Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn is an exciting action-RPG mix of Elden Ring and God Of War
When action RPG Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn was revealed in March, its cinematic trailer struggled to conjure up anything more than a slight tinge of excitement. Then a gameplay reveal arrived later at Summer Geoff Fest and it immediately slid into the “Cor, this game looks a bit good doesn’t it?” category of my brain. Finally, another game befitting A44, the studio behind minimalistic Ashen which Brendy quite enjoyed.
Colour me excited when I had the chance to see a half-hour presentation of the game in action at this year’s Gamescom, and chat to A44’s CEO Derek Holding at the same time. It was even better than I’d expected, honestly, and I’ve come away with the belief that it may just be one of the best Soulslikes to arrive in quite some time.
Horizon Zero Dawn, another game less than 10 years old, is reportedly being remade for PS5
Recent reports have suggested that a remake of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is on its way, just five years after the original game was released.
The report comes from MP1st, who claim that “a source close to the situation” has declared that Horizon Zero Dawn is being remade for PS5. It’s not yet clear, according to MP1st, whether this will be a remake or remaster.
However, details were reportedly revealed that included an improved lighting system, overhauled textures, and enhanced animations. There’ll also supposedly be better character models to bring the title up to speed with its successor, Horizon Forbidden West.
Horizon Zero Dawn multiplayer game claimed to be in the works
Horizon Zero Dawn developers Guerrilla Games are working on an online multiplayer instalment in the retro-futuristic, robot battling series, a new report claims. MP1st say multiple sources allege the project exists, and another suggests it could include co-op involving some form of customisation based on tribes from the Horizon series. This multiplayer version of Horizon would come to PC alongside PlayStation consoles.

Stranded: Alien Dawn is a familiar survival sim with room to grow
Stranded: Alien Dawn is Haemimont Games’ second sci-fi sim on the trot, and despite being set on a planet that actually has air this time, it could well make Surviving Mars’ well-funded colony building feel like an afternoon playing with Lego. In Stranded, as I saw from a hands-off preview at Gamescom 2022, you’re certainly not planetside by choice, having crash-landed on an uncharted world with just four surviving astronauts left to scavenge, hunt and build their way towards something resembling a life.
“Like RimWorld”, I thought to myself upon hearing the pre-demo pitch, and subsequently wrote in my notes four separate times before ceasing to bother. If only mere words could convey just how much “like RimWorld” Stranded: Alien Dawn is – other 3D-ified clones exist, like last year’s Going Medieval, but here, even the exact spaceship-wrecking premise matches that of Ludeon Studios’ seminal survival sim.
Netflix’s Horizon Zero Dawn Show Finds Its Showrunners
Earlier in the summer, news broke that Sony was going to bring its sci-fi RPG franchise Horizon Zero Dawn to the small screen via a Netflix adaptation. Watching post-apocalyptic humans battle big-ass robot animals sounds like something that could work as both a game and a TV concept, and Sony’s eager to test that…
