Over the past decade, Malibu Media has emerged as a prominent so-called “copyright troll,” suing thousands of “John Does” for allegedly torrenting adult content hosted on the porn studio’s website, “X-Art.” Whether defendants were guilty or not didn’t seem to matter to Malibu, critics claimed, as much as winning as many settlements as possible. As courts became more familiar with Malibu, however, some judges grew suspicious of the studio’s litigiousness. As early as 2012, a California judge described these lawsuits as “essentially an extortion scheme,” and by 2013, a Wisconsin judge ordered sanctions, agreeing with critics who said that Malibu’s tactics were designed to “harass and intimidate” defendants into paying Malibu thousands in settlements.
By 2016, Malibu started losing footing in this arena — and even began fighting with its own lawyer. At that point, file-sharing lawsuits became less commonplace, with critics noting a significant reduction in Malibu’s lawsuits over the next few years. Now, TorrentFreak reports that Malibu’s litigation machine appears to finally be running out of steam — with its corporate status suspended in California sometime between mid-2020 and early 2021 after failing to pay taxes. Last month, a Texas court said that Malibu has until January 20 to pay what’s owed in back taxes and get its corporate status reinstated. If that doesn’t happen over the next few weeks, one of Malibu’s last lawsuits on the books will be dismissed, potentially marking the end of Malibu’s long run of alleged copyright trolling.

A SELF-proclaimed time traveller has claimed aliens are heading to earth to destroy us.
Eno Alric, known as “theradianttimetraveler” on TikTok, wildly claims to be from the year 2671.
On his page, he has made a series of bonkers forecasts for the future, warning in his bio that “mankind is on the brink of destruction”.
Despite none of his previous predictions panning out, he still racks up hundreds of thousands of views on his barmy posts.
He has now warned of a life-changing event he oddly claims will happen in March.
In a new video he said an extraterrestrial species known as “the Champion” will arrive on Earth.
He added: “The world will soon end.
“A very hostile alien species is coming to take back the Earth, we will not win.
“Another alien, whose world was destroyed by the hostiles, will save some of us.
“On March 23, 2023, about 8,000 people will be taken to another habitable planet.”
Despite it racking up hundreds of thousands of viewer, most were not convinced.
One person wrote: “I am a time traveller and I want to inform you that Sunday is the year 2023.”
Another joked: “If it’s gonna end soon, then how were you alive in 2671?”
Eno replied: “As I said, 8,000 are taken to another planet.”
He previously claimed “very big things” will happen on four December dates.
But sceptical TikTok users were left divided by the baseless predictions.
One said: “I know what the event is…. Christmas.”
Another added: “Yes I am a time traveller too that date… is Christmas.”
A third replied: “If you 6,000 years in the future, then how do you have a old phone and know how to work TikTok?”
Many social media users pointed out that Eno’s similar predictions for November never came true.
The supposed time traveller previously claimed that there would be five major events to remember from this month.
He alleged that humans would find new planets, be hit by a tidal wave and be visited by aliens.
A BALLERINA has cleared up the misconceptions people think about how they treat their pointe shoes.
As it turns out, there is a reason dancers need to mold them to their feet.
The shoes are hard to wear[/caption]
They can also get expensive[/caption]
Sometimes shoes wear out in a week[/caption]
Laura Gruener, a ballerina, explained the entire shoe situation in a Youtube short.
She kicked off the video by noting that most pointe shoes, even those that are custom, are not immediately wearable for dancing.
Therefore, she bends the soles of the shoes to “soften” them up.
While not everyone does this, she cuts the hem and sole of the shoe to bend it into the correct form.
It beats the alternative of getting expensive, custom shoes, she said, as she does not feel they are worth it.
Pointe shoes are also not meant to be heard.
So, Gruener literally bangs them to reduce the sound the shoe makes on the floor.
Ponte shoes actually get quieter the more you dance, she said.
However, some roles for ballets require harder shoes.
Those are expensive, and you can go through a pair or two in a week.
Oftentimes, a ballet company will give you shoes in these cases.
You can put some glue on the shoes to make them last longer, said Gruener.
“I often do it before I even start dancing in the shoe,” she said.
All of these rules and difficulties make pointe shoes hard to get into, let alone dance with.
“It literally feels like a brick on your foot or trying to mold it to your foot,” she said.
In the comments, fans couldn’t believe how difficult the shoe process is.
“I’ve heard this from multiple dancers, and I just can’t help but wonder why on earth they make them this way in the first place??” said one person.
“I have wayy more questions now,” said another.
“I’ve dated a couple dancers, and their poor feet,” commented a third.
“The amount of personal discomfort and straight up pain that they go through to achieve their careers and to make 10,000 people stand and cheer, is incredible and earns my respect.”
