I bought a pet pug that acts like an entirely different animal – people are convinced it’s something else
YAWNING and staring might seem like feline behavior, but one pug has proven that some dogs have cat-like instincts too.
An adorable black puppy was caught on camera as she sat on the couch while cleaning herself, looking like she might let out a meow at any moment.

While most dogs spend their time tearing up toys and chasing balls, some have more mellow personalities.
In a recent video shared by LADbible Ireland, the bug-eyed creature was recorded with some added narration.
“This pug think’s she’s a cat,” the text read as the video zoomed in on the clueless subject.
The unnamed pug was busy licking her paws and pushing back the fur on her face to give herself a fresh look.
“Just getting my morning clean on,” the next caption joked.
The sweet dog was then seen letting out a long yawn, before making eye contact with whoever was behind the camera.
“This is exhausting stuff,” the narrator added, before asking “Can I help you?”
In the video’s caption, the poster admitted “I am convinced this is a cat in a pug costume.”
Animal-lovers quickly added their thoughts in the comments section, many sharing their own experiences with pets that seemed confused about their identify.
“We’ve had two Pugs and I always thought they were the felines of the canine world,” one person wrote.
Many gushed over the pug’s silly mannerisms.
“Pugs are just the cutest things! No matter what they do, they’re cute!!”
Some Pug owners compared their pets to other animals.
“Omg. My pug is kind of like a, cat, frog … alien too… jumping on tables … doin stunts…,” they added.
While this pug is certainly not a cat, it’s not unheard of for people to make identification mistakes.
Other people have also been fooled by creatures that appear to be dogs, but actually are an entirely different species.
In Texas, a baby fox separated from its mother was mistaken for a puppy by the person who found it.
Another rescuer believed they had saved a dog from their backyard in Australia, but it turned out to be a Dingo.
Despite her unusual behaviors, this pug is certainly not meant for the wild.

Windows 12 will be a different, modular monster with faster updates, AI integrations, and more
Microsoft has already spent years trying to modernize the Windows platform, including an attempt to build a completely separate version (Windows 10X) for users that didn’t need all the legacy baggage that has accumulated in Windows over the years. When the world transitioned to hybrid work and study, the company…

Microsoft scraps the $1 intro Game Pass subscription and looks at “different marketing promotions”
Microsoft has scrapped the $1 Game Pass subscription trail has been confirmed, via a report from The Verge.
The promotion, which allowed first-time subscribers to enjoy the benefits of the service for a far-reduced price, has been removed in place of alternative options for future folks curious about Game Pass. We have yet to see what these will be at this time.
“We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” states head of communications at Xbox Kari Perez to The Verge.
Why this round of tech optimism feels different
One of my most joyous technology memories concerns Project Origami. The effort from Microsoft, Intel and others launched ultra-mobile PCs, or UMPCs. The devices, akin to squeezing a full Windows machine into something about the size of a midrange iPad, often complete with a physical keyboard, utterly fascinated me back around 2006. At that time […]

What makes Redfall different to other Arkane games? It’s all comes down to trust
One of my favourite ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ moments in games comes in Final Fantasy 10, just after you defeat a big machine on a lake of ice near one of the title’s multiple temples. Your party jumps onto snowmobiles – two people per vehicle – and heads towards Macalania Temple to continue its journey. You follow main character Tidus for this part of the game, but who accompanies him on the sled can vary. It can be more or less any of the characters in the game, and who joins you depends entirely on some in-game criteria.
The game calls this ‘affection’. If Tidus uses a healing item, or healing magic, on another member of the cast, the hidden stat goes up. If he intercepts an attack aimed at them, it goes up. If he talks to a character first when they’re all spread out in an area, it goes up. At no point are you told about this, and at no point does it really matter. But, play your cards right, and you’ll see get a small interaction with another character that serves to deepen your understanding of them, or provide another sliver of context on the world.
I am obsessed with things like this in games. Alex once referred to himself as a ‘lore goblin’ for Elden Ring, and the phrase stuck with me. That’s what moments like this do to me. Seeing Rikku nuzzle her head into Tidus in a show of deep affection you don’t really see in the game – all because I’ve trusted/interacted with her the most up to this point? It’s a small but meaningful reward, and something uniquely enriching when it comes to player agency.

I’m a server – I tried three different TikTok hacks at once and got $207 in tips in a single night
WORKING in the service industry can be a tiring, thankless endeavor.
One server said she’s relying on viral hacks from TikTok to increase her income, and so far, it’s working wonders.
The savvy server, whose name is Chelsea (@champagnemamichels), credited other food industry influencers for a particularly good night.
In a video, she revealed the result of her campaign for more gratuities.
She asked viewers to imagine themselves in her position for the duration of the clip.
“POV: You’re a server and you used TikTok tips to make more money,” she wrote in the caption.
Chelsea recorded herself getting ready for a shift, then reapplying her beauty products throughout the evening.
First, she twirled her hair into “space buns” – two loose spirals positioned at the backside of her head – and secured one at either side.
Then, she applied a plumping lip gloss, giving her pout an extra boost.
Her final trick was to spritz her pressure points with perfume, so she’d cast a lovely scent everywhere she went all evening.
The fragrance Chelsea picked was Very Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, $119, a mixture of vanilla and berries that would have any customer craving another drink.
At the end of the evening, Chelsea counted her tips on camera. She was satisfied with her take-home pay.
She paired a celebratory emoji with the caption, “$207 for just the night shift.”
In the video description, she theorized that one hack in particular was to thank for her increased tips.
“The space buns worked,” the victorious server wrote.
Chelsea’s fans were quick to compliment her ingenuity and her beauty.
One insisted she earned those tips with her good looks, comparing her beautiful smile to Drew Barrymore’s.
Another commenter agreed and said, “Being absolutely gorgeous probably helps too.”
“You’re too sweet. Thank you, gorgeous,” Chelsea wrote in response.
She stayed humble and waved off any compliments. “Mine is the makeup,” she insisted.
Another server said she also used the lip plumper to get more tips, and had good luck with a pheromone-based fragrance, too.
“I’m ordering the pheromone oil,” Chelsea commented back.
