Blink video doorbells and cameras drop to record-low prices
Amazon is running a sale on its Blink video doorbells and cameras, so folks who’ve been looking to add smart home devices to their setup may be interested in checking out these deals. Several of the gadgets have dropped to all-time-low prices, including a bundle of the Blink Video Doorbell and Sync Module 2. That will currently run you $58, which is 31 percent off the regular price of $85.
The doorbell offers live video at 1080p resolution with infrared capabilities for nighttime use and two-way audio. Amazon says the device will be able to run for up to two years on a pair of AA batteries. Setup should be straightforward enough through the Blink app. Amazon also notes that the doorbell is weather resistant and it has a seal that offers protection against water.
Naturally, you’ll be able to use Alexa to manage the doorbell. You can use the voice assistant to operate the two-way audio function, arm and disarm the device and get chime and motion alerts. On an Alexa-powered display or your phone, you’ll be able to access a live feed of what the doorbell’s camera can see.
The Sync Module 2, meanwhile, enables users to control Blink devices from the Blink Home Monitor app. Plug a USB storage drive into the Sync Module 2, and you’ll be able to save recordings of motion-activated video clips. You’ll be able to view the footage via the Blink app or by plugging the flash drive into your computer.
Elsewhere in the sale, Amazon has dropped the price of a Video Doorbell (without a bundled Sync Module 2) to $35. That’s 30 percent off the regular price of $50 and also marks a record low.

Ring video doorbells and alarm systems are up to 33 percent off right now
Echo smart displays and speakers aren’t the only devices on sale on Amazon this weekend, the retailer has also discounted Ring doorbells, cameras and alarm systems. Nearly every product Ring offers is part of the promotion, including the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2. Thanks to a 30 percent discount, you can get the smart doorbell for $175, instead of $250 at its usual price. Other notable discounts include a $40 price drop on both the plug-in and battery models of Ring Spotlight Cam Plus. You can also save $40 on Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, in either black and white.
Although it’s a few years old now, the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 is still one of the best smart home doorbells you can buy. Ring refreshed the Pro 2 in 2021, equipping the device with a 1,536p video camera and a new fish eye lens. Thanks to those features, the Pro 2 offers a 150-degree field of view, allowing you to see when parcels arrive on your porch. The addition of a radar sensor means the Pro 2 offers more accurate motion detection. As with other Ring devices, you’ll get the most out of the Pro 2 if you already invested in the Alexa ecosystem. For those who prefer Google Assistant, Nest offerings like the Nest Doorbell can be a better choice.

Apple AirPods Max
(opens in a new tab)
Why we like it
Released in December 2020, Apple’s AirPods Max were praised by former Mashable tech reporter Brenda Stolyar for their “excellent audio quality, easy-to-use controls, and good battery life.” However, they were blasted on social media for their astronomical price (although that hasn’t deterred folks from buying them) of $549. If you’ve had your eye on them, now’s a good time to bite as Best Buy has them on sale for just $449.99. While not the lowest price they’ve ever been, that’s still a significant $99 discount. Unfortunately, the deal is only available on the space gray headphones — if you want another color, you’ll have to pay $499.99.

Blink security cameras and video doorbells are up to 43 percent off
You might not have to pay much to bolster your smart home’s security. Amazon is selling Blink devices for up to 43 percent off, including a Video Doorbell plus Sync Module for $60 (normally $85) — that’s near an all-time low, You can also get the doorbell by itself for just $40 if you already have sync hardware. Most camera kits are also on sale, starting at $70 (normally $100) for the weather-ready Blink Outdoor.
Blink is effectively the budget counterpart to Amazon’s Ring brand, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing — you’re getting a lot of functionality at a lower price. The Video Doorbell supports both wired and wireless connections, offers two-way audio, captures infrared footage at night and gives you the choice of either storing clips locally (on a USB drive) or in the cloud with a subscription plan. It ties into Alexa devices, too, so it may be your ideal doorbell you have an Echo Show.
The Blink Indoor and Outdoor models, meanwhile, remain our top picks for wireless security cameras. You get much of the same flexibility as with the doorbell, including a peak two years of battery life. Again, you’ll have to invest in the Alexa ecosystem to make the most of these products. If you can live with that, though, you might not have many complaints.

Amazon’s Ring video doorbells and cameras are up to 35 percent off right now
Amazon has put many of its Ring video doorbells and cameras on sale for up to 35 percent off. One of the most notable price drops is for the Video Doorbell 4, which has returned to a record low of $170. That’s 23 percent off the regular price of $220.
It offers 1080p video and improved battery life over previous models, Amazon claims. You can run the Video Doorbell 4 wirelessly or hook it up to existing doorbell wiring. It can connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks and it has interchangeable face plates. There are color video previews for all detected motion events. Moreover, a quick replies function allows you to set common responses that trigger when someone comes to your door. For instance, it might ask a delivery person to place a package in a certain spot and invite them to leave a voice message for you.
Several other Ring devices have dropped to record low prices as part of this sale, including the battery-powered Spotlight Cam Plus. It’s currently available for $130, or 35 percent off the usual price of $200. The 1080p camera offers color night vision and a way to access a live feed at any time. You can set up customizable motion zones, so you’ll only be notified about activity that’s, say, close to your door or windows. There are two motion-activated LED spotlights, a built-in security siren and a two-way talk function.
The battery-powered Stick Up Cam is on sale as well, as it’s down from $100 to $70. This can be perched on a flat indoor surface or mounted outside. It offers 1080p video, two-way talk and real-time notifications. As with the Video Doorbell 4 and Spotlight Cam Plus, the battery pack has a quick-release function.
You can also save on the more compact Ring Indoor Cam, which has dropped by $10 to $50. This has similar functions to the Stick Up Cam, but it’s designed for indoor use and has to be plugged into a power outlet. Like the other products, it works with Alexa, and you can use an Echo Show, Echo Spot or the Ring app to see what the camera is capturing.
Arlo video doorbells and security cameras are up to half off
Folks on the lookout for a new video doorbell or home security camera might be interested in checking out the latest sale on Arlo gear. You can snap up the devices for up to half off at the minute, with the Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell seeing the biggest drop from $200 to $100.
The doorbell, which you can plug in if you wish, offers a 180-degree wide field view and HD video with HDR. It captures video prior to motion-activated recordings, so you can see what caught the camera’s attention (such as what someone was doing right before ringing the doorbell). You can speak to whoever’s at your door from your phone thanks to two-way audio support. Alternatively, you can respond with quick reply prompts if you’re busy. Arlo says the device is durable too, so it should be able to withstand the elements.
The doorbell should play nicely with other smart home security devices, as it has Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Samsung SmartThings support. Those who take out an Arlo Secure plan, meanwhile, will receive notifications when the doorbell detects people, vehicles, and packages.
The sale also includes a wired version of the doorbell, which is 47 percent off at $80. A two-pack of the spotlight camera, which offers 1080p video capture and color night vision without the need for a hub, will run you $160 (31 percent off). Meanwhile, an indoor camera with a privacy shield is $30 off at $70.
