Peloton recalls over 2 million bikes due to faulty seats
Peloton is eager for people to know it’s more than “that bike company.” Unfortunately, those bikes are at the heart of the beleaguered fitness company’s latest woes. Today, Peloton and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a voluntary recall of 2.2 million Peloton Bikes after 35 reports of seats either breaking or falling off during use.
A Bloomberg report offers some more details about the faulty seat. Namely, the part that attaches the seat to the bike frame could potentially break off at the welding joint. Of the 35 reports, 13 resulted in injuries, including a fractured wrist, lacerations, and bruises.
The affected bikes were sold at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods retail and online stores as well as on Amazon….

Marvel’s Blade Put On Hold Due To Ongoing Writers’ Strike
Marvel Studios will pause pre-production on its upcoming vampire thriller Blade due to the ongoing writers’ strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of True Detective, was recently hired to work on the script, but according to an unnamed source, “time simply ran out.” Marvel plans to restart production once the strike is over. The studio had already paused production once before, and now Blade has become the first high-profile movie to be affected by the strike.
Late-night talk shows and Saturday Night Live have been among the TV shows affected by the writers’ strike, with Showtime’s Billions also halting production as studios fail to agree to new terms with writers.

‘SNL’ cancels Pete Davidson-hosted episode due to WGA strike
With the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike underway, Saturday Night Live has canceled its upcoming May 6 show.
The show would have marked SNL alum Pete Davidson’s hosting debut, with Lil Uzi Vert scheduled as the musical guest. This episode also would have been one of the last of the season, which was originally set to conclude May 20.
“SNL will air repeats until further notice starting Saturday, May 6,” NBC revealed in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
The Emmy-winning sketch show is the latest to announce it will be going dark as a result of the WGA strike. Other late-night TV shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Daily Show have also shut down production.
The WGA strike comes after six weeks of negotiation between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP). The parties disagreed on matters including pay for writers, compensation for streaming shows, and the use of artificial intelligence in writing. With the AMPTP unwilling to meet demands, the WGA initiated the first WGA strike since 2007-2008. SNL was off the air for the entirety of that strike, only returning once it ended.
