Final Fantasy 16 Preorder Guide – Editions, Bonuses, And More
Only a couple of months stand between Final Fantasy fans and the next mainline entry in the iconic franchise. Final Fantasy XVI releases exclusively on PS5 on June 22. The latest State of Play livestream provided a fresh look at the fast-paced and stylish combat. If you’re looking forward to picking up one of the biggest PS5 games of the year, you can preorder Final Fantasy XVI now. Ordering early will ensure you get multiple in-game bonuses, and you can also secure exclusive preorder bonuses at select retailers.
Here’s a closer look at all three editions of Final Fantasy XVI: Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s–which is back in stock but could sell out soon.
Final Fantasy XVI Preorder Bonuses
Preorder bonuses are a bit confusing for Final Fantasy XVI. Three different in-game items are available, but whether you get them depends both on where you preorder the game and which version you opt for. Just about every retailer is offering the Cat Sith Charm (which boosts the rate at which you gain Gil) along with the Braveheart weapon, but the Scholar’s Spectacles item (which boosts XP gain) is only available with the following editions:
- Collector’s Edition
- Deluxe Edition (Digital)
- Standard Edition (Digital)
In other words, you’ll want to pay close attention to the fine print when preordering FFXVI to ensure you’re getting the best bonuses at your preferred retailer.
Multiple retailers also have exclusive preorder bonuses for Final Fantasy XVI. If you preorder any edition from Best Buy, you’ll receive an exclusive steelbook case. Meanwhile, physical editions at GameStop come with Realms of Valisthea patches. If you’re interested in either of these bonuses, we’d recommend ordering ASAP. And if you’d rather get some cash back, Target is giving away $10 gift cards with preorders of either edition.
Preorder Final Fantasy XVI Standard Edition
$70
Looking for the cheapest way to pick up Final Fantasy XVI? The standard edition comes with the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. Your best bet right now is to preorder from Best Buy or GameStop because of the unique preorder bonuses.
Preorder Final Fantasy XVI Deluxe Edition
$100
Drop an extra $30, and you’ll get a cloth world map of Valisthea and the Special Clive Rosfield steelbook Case. It’s worth noting that this is different from the steelbook offered with Best Buy preorders–so purchasing from that retailer will actually net you two unique steelbooks.
Preorder Final Fantasy XVI Collector’s Edition
$350
It’s not cheap, but at least the Final Fantasy XVI Collector’s Edition is filled to the brim with awesome collectibles. Along with your preorder bonuses, you’ll get the following:
- Final Fantasy XVI base game
- Premium Statue – Phoenix vs Ifrit
- Metal Eikon pin collection
- Special Clive Rosfield steelbook case
- Cloth world map of Valisthea

Something is terribly wrong with The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition’s PC performance
Surprise RPG remaster The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition has turned out to be even more of a PC wilter than its raised system requirements would suggest. I’ve only been bumbling around the starting planet of Terra-2 so far, and thus haven’t seen every single weather system upgrade and character model touch-up that the Spacer’s Choice Edition has to offer, but it’s made a worrying first impression in the performance department.
Company of Heroes 3 release date, launch editions, and features
After five long years in development, the Company of Heroes 3 release date is here. Initially, we only knew about the Italian campaign with its new, Total War-style strategy map, and about the tailor-made Company of Heroes development program that’s driven a lot of the design decisions to date.
Since then, we received a further announcement that revealed the second campaign, which is in the more traditional mission-only style. We also have some idea of the vague plans for Company of Heroes 3 DLC, which is sure to prolong one of the best PC games available for military strategists. Here’s everything we know about the Company of Heroes 3 release date and gameplay features.
