Fire Emblem Engage announced, reunites you with Marth and Celica
The next entry in the storied Fire Emblem franchise has been announced and it’s called Fire Emblem Engage.
In it, you will summon and fight alongside legendary heroes from past Fire Emblem games, like Marth and Celica, and add their power to yours in this new story.
In a war against the Fell Dragon, four kingdoms worked together with heroes from other worlds to seal away this great evil. One thousand years later, this seal has weakened and the Fell Dragon is about to reawaken, and it is your job to stop it.
Both Fire Emblem Warriors Games Are Discounted To Great Prices At Amazon
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is currently discounted to $45 at Amazon. This is the lowest price we’ve seen since Three Hopes launched a few months ago. If you haven’t checked out the original Fire Emblem Warriors, you can pick it up for only $28 at Amazon.
It earned a 7/10 in our Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes review thanks to its great character development and fun action combat. A demo is available on the eShop if you’re interested in testing out the game before buying a copy.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes builds on the foundation laid by the original from 2017. There’s a big difference this time around, however, as you’ll see more than a few familiar faces from the critically acclaimed Fire Emblem: Three Houses, including Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude. Aside from the usual Musuo action, which has you facing off against hundreds of foes in large-scale battles, you’ll also be able to give commands to your army as you work to gain the upper hand.
The DioField Chronicle is shaping up to be real-time Fire Emblem meets Final Fantasy
Square Enix have made a vast array of RPGs over the years, but rarely have they ventured into the realm tactics and strategy games. A couple of big names come to mind, the obvious one being Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre if you count their PSP remake of Quest’s SNES original, and most recently, Triangle Strategy on the Switch. Outside of that, though, it’s all a bit barren, which is why the real-time tactical sword-swinging of their upcoming strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle is such an interesting landgrab for them. To say they’re pushing into new territory would be an understatement.
Happily, judging by the sizable first chapter of the game (currently available to play for free on Steam until the game’s release on September 22nd), it’s clear that Square Enix and their development partners at Lancarse have a lot of smart decisions here. With its focus on individual hero characters instead of nameless military units, mixed in with the magical pizazz and flashy summons of its Final Fantasy games, The DioField Chronicle could just be the Fire Emblem-shaped hole PC players have been looking for.
