Footage Of Halo Infinite’s DMR-style M392 Bandit Rifle Has Been Leaked
A leak unearthed earlier this year suggested the franchise fan-favorite DMR would be coming to Halo Infinite under a different name, and now videos have emerged showing the M392 Bandit rifle in action. The Bandit shown in newly leaked videos is a semi-automatic, mid-range rifle that’s lacking a scope, as picked up by Windows Central.
The initial Bandit leak was posted by YouTuber Stanlyhalo, who managed to get their hands on the unreleased weapon by loading into a glitched Forge session. The user has since uploaded a couple of videos showing off the new weapon’s capabilities.
Another video posted to Twitter by Delta Index tests the weapon’s time to kill, showing it blast through an enemy’s shield’s with four shots, then requiring a single headshot or three body shots to make the kill.
Halo Infinite Is Dumping Last Spartan Standing Mode Very Soon
Over the course of August 23, the new Team Doubles mode will replace Last Spartan Standing in Halo Infinite’s playlist line up. Spartans, take note… that’s tomorrow.
In the latest Halo Waypoint blog post, 343 Industries outlines upcoming changes to matchmaking. As preparation for the addition of a new ranked mode, Halo Infinite is changing how its matchmaking algorithms determine skill. This will, in theory, improve the accuracy of rank-determining CSR rankings. Additionally, players with too wide of a gap between CSR rankings will be barred from joining ranked games in a party together. That particular change started today: Monday, August 22 2022.
Broader changes to the CSR and playlists will occur tomorrow. At 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, the regular CSR reset will occur and Ranked modes will be taken down to allow maintenance. Simultaneously, Team Doubles will be added to the social playlists. An hour later, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, Last Spartan Standing will be unavailable. Two hours after that, after ranked maintenance is complete, Ranked Doubles will be introduced and Ranked Arena will be playable again.
This Halo Infinite Forge Mario Kart creation is bananas
One clever fan made a Halo Infinite Forge Mario Kart crossover, and it’s so brilliant, it almost makes the wait for the Halo Infinite Forge release date worthwhile. The fan, who goes by bissuetox on social media, posted a minute-long video clip showing their creation in action. They started with a race course set in a field that looks like it came straight out of Nintendo’s classic kart racer, albeit with Halo constructs instead of sentient mushrooms and a fire-breathing turtle.
Halo system link still holds up more than 20 years later
Moments after booting up Halo: Combat Evolved with some friends, stepping onto the legendary Blood Gulch map, and dying nearly instantly from a few well-placed pistol shots, I remembered exactly why wires are good.
When my friends brought two original Xbox consoles along for a beach weekend, I expected that there would be some hassle getting them to work for our planned six-player matches. The game and consoles are more than 20 years old, likely predating even the dusty flat-screen TVs we were playing on. But to my surprise, just a few minutes after we had set up the consoles and connected them for system link play, we plugged in some controllers, made a Halo lobby, and began trash talking each other across the entire house.
