Kiwi Farms is effectively offline following campaign to deplatform the hate site
The days where Kiwi Farms is a functioning website appear to be numbered. After Cloudflare cut the forum off over the weekend, other essential internet services, including hCaptcha, followed suit. Kiwi Farms briefly moved to a Russian domain and DDoS-Guard on Sunday, but as of Tuesday morning, visiting the website returns an error page that says it can’t load.
“This meme about Russia being a free country is a joke,” Kiwi Farms founder Joshua Moon wrote on Telegram, adding that he could not see a future where the website would be able to operate normally. Moon’s post references 8chan and Daily Stormer, two websites that, while they continue to exist, are essentially inaccessible after public efforts to deplatform were successful.

“The campaign is over. We won,” streamer and political commentator Clara “Keffals” Sorrenti wrote in a statement she shared on Friday. Sorrenti was a recent target of a coordinated and vicious harassment campaign that originated on Kiwi Farms and saw her doxxed and swatted. Sorrenti started the DropKiwifarms hashtag to urge Cloudflare and other critical internet infrastructure providers to drop the website. The campaign gained critical mass after NBC News published a story about Kiwi Farms, detailing the forum’s sordid past. Since its founding in 2013, at least three suicides have been linked to harassment campaigns that originated on the website.
“Many sites that have faced pressure campaigns to be deplatformed, like 8chan and Daily Stormer, are still online. They are nevertheless completely impotent,” Sorrenti said. “Whether or not we are able to completely remove Kiwi Farms from the internet is irrelevant to the fact that the goals of our campaign have not only been achieved, but have achieved more than we could have ever expected.”

Walmart announces $75m change to stores with departments expanding but it’s bad news for shoppers who hate self-checkout
WALMART will be remodeling its stores for a whopping $75 million as departments expand, but shoppers who hate self-checkout won’t be as thrilled.
The remodeling projects include expanding Walmart’s pickup, delivery, and express delivery services.

The pickup, delivery, and express delivery services will be expanded as well as the self-checkout stations[/caption]
The express service delivers your groceries to your home in only two hours compared to other grocery delivery services.
Twelve stores across West Central Ohio will undergo remodeling projects, which Walmart hopes to complete by the end of autumn.
The stores will get a fresh look with new paint, signage, lighting, and flooring.
Bathrooms and nursing rooms as well as the Vision Center will be updated and departments will expand such as offering summer merchandise year-round.
Walmart will also be expanding its self-checkout stations, which customers may love or hate.

While self-checkout can be more efficient, the machines could lead to more trouble than they are worth.
A counselor from Arizona said Walmart, specifically, has been linked to bad customer service when it comes to self-checkout monitoring.
Sandra Barger exclusively told The U.S. Sun that “there was one particular Walmart here in Tucson that I was getting a lot of clients [from] … it’s averaging two to three a week.”
These clients were getting charged with petty theft, even when they didn’t mean to steal anything.

Barger heard the same story over and over again – “they forgot to scan something very small,” she said.
The counselor believes some stores should do a better job at monitoring and helping their shoppers at self-checkout, so shoppers don’t get into this mess.
Walmart previously told The U.S. Sun: “Addressing store theft is a challenge for every retailer, including Walmart. To help, we’re continually investing in people, programs and technology for stores combating this problem.
“Should customers have questions or difficulty using our self-checkout registers, we encourage them to ask for assistance from our associates managing that area.”
When talking about the store remodeling, a Walmart spokesperson told the Dayton Daily News that projects are moving quickly.
Jessica Villanueva, a Walmart regional general manager told the outlet:
“These stores serve a substantial number of rural communities, so whether someone is shopping in-store, online, through mobile or Pick Up, our brick-and-mortar stores play an important role in fulfilling those orders.
“These investments will make it easier for our stores and associates to get customers what they want, when they want it.”
Walmart is hoping that these projects won’t disturb customers too much while the stores are under construction.
Felicia McCranie, director of corporate affairs and global communications at Walmart, told the outlet:
“We know some disruptions are impossible to avoid when remodeling a store, but we do our best to reduce or eliminate customer friction as much as possible,
“Including temporary directional signing, relocation of services, and extra associates working the floor to direct customers.”
Why I Hate Google’s New Search Interface

Humans are creatures of habit, so when something you use daily changes, it throws everything off. That’s what’s happening right now, which is why I’m not a fan of the new Google Search bar menu buttons.

Instagram has been putting a big emphasis on videos and Reels. If you want Instagram like it used to be, the web app is pretty close—and it can be “installed” like a regular app on Android and iPhone.

I think my cats hate video games, and I’m absolutely devastated
![](https://assets2.rockpapershotgun.com/cat-hates-games.jpg/BROK/resize/1920x1920%3E/format/jpg/quality/80/cat-hates-games.jpg)
As many of you well know, I rather enjoyed cat adventure Stray recently. As an owner of two tortoiseshells myself, it was right up my alley. I do, however, have a confession to make. When I started seeing other real life cats enjoying the game alongside their respective humans, I began to feel sad and a bit left out. You see, my cats Maple and Midna (still!) haven’t shown any interest in Stray whatsoever, not even flicking up their ears in response to the cat’s in-game meow. I’m not gonna lie, it kinda broke my heart a little bit.
However, I’m beginning to think their (clear and apparent) hatred of video games goes further than simple disinterest. I was playing A Plague Tale: Requiem for the first time last week, a game famous for its swarms of screeching rats, and STILL nothing. They love hunting rats and bringing them home to leave as little presents for us on our back door step. Heck, they’ll even wig out and go into prowl mode when they hear them scrabbling away underneath our floorboards (yes, we do have a rat problem in our house). But clearly, their ice cold little murder hearts are unmoved by their video game equivalents. Is this what it’s like when your children reject your hobbies and go and sulk in their rooms for the rest of the day? Because it sure does feel like it.
