Heinz has doubled the price of some products in a year – is your favourite on the list?
HEINZ is proving a sauce of anger by doubling the price of some products in a year.
Peppa Pig snap pots — pasta shapes in tomato sauce — have shot up 100 per cent from £1 to £2.

A three-pack of Heinz 200g Beanz tins is up from £1 to £1.79.
And a 910g bottle of its tomato ketchup has risen 60 per cent from £2.49 to £3.99.
Overall Heinz has pushed up prices on 500 items across all the major supermarkets.
Bisto and Premier Foods have also raised prices — intensifying the row between retailers and producers over who is profiteering from grocery inflation.
Last week Tesco chair John Allan said producers were hiking prices “by more than they need”.
Adam Leyland, at The Grocer which revealed the Heinz rises, said: “When there’s inflation it’s inevitable some will take advantage to push up prices that little bit more. The hard part is working out who’s taking advantage, and who’s been had.”
John Bason, at Associated British Foods — the firm behind Kingsmill bread and Twinings tea — defended suppliers yesterday.
He said: “Inflation is bound to be an area of friction between us and the supermarkets.
“But our falling margins show we are not recovering all the price increases we are facing.
“The amount of inflation is the highest I have ever seen and it can’t be ignored. I think it is coming down and let’s hope it is because it is not good for the economy or society in general.”
Heinz dumps dairy from traditional Cream of Tomato soup to make it vegan
HEINZ is dumping dairy from its Cream of Tomato soup to make it vegan.
The comforting favourite — a best-seller for 100 years — traditionally contains milk and cream.
But Heinz says years of research means it can now do without either.
The move has divided fans.
Macaulay Tobin, 38, of Bournemouth, asked: “Why did Heinz have to mess with perfection?”
“I can understand that people want to get healthy in the New Year, but how can it be as comforting without the cream?
“Cream of Tomato has helped me through illnesses, relationship break-ups and many other stressful life events.
“I just hope they haven’t messed it up.”
Linda Kassia, 43, of Lincoln, said: “If the experts at Heinz say it’s just as rich and creamy without the cream, I’m willing to give it a try.”
“It’s good news for me as well because I was going to do Veganuary next month anyway.
“Now I just need to figure out how to butter my toast without the butter!”
Heinz is also introducing a non-meat version of its tinned Beanz & Sausages.
The new varieties can be bought from Ocado starting today, and at Sainsbury’s from January 8.
