Unfortunately for Aussies, being on alert for venomous snakes is not only necessary for those that live in the warm northern states or the bush.

Australian Reptile Park head reptile keeper Jake Meney warned we could be in for a “massive” snake season due to the unusual amount of rain this year.
“When it rains the activity of small mammals, other reptiles and birds can increase and this means snakes will likely be more active and on the hunt for food,” he explained.
“The increase in temperature will also see snakes out and about looking for a mate as breeding season ramps up.”
If you enjoyed that serpent-themed hunt, try and test your eyesight to spot the deadly snake lurking among the leaves in this snap.

Modern Warfare 2 ghost perk not hiding players on FPS minimap
The changes to the Modern Warfare 2 ghost perk, and changes to the perk system overall, have been one of the most contentious discussions circling around the new Call of Duty multiplayer game. Not only do you have to get to level 52 to unlock the CoD perk but it also has to be earned in matches, and now it looks like it doesn’t even work properly in the FPS game.

An Alan Wake 2 Teaser Image Might Be Hiding In A New Remedy Video
Remedy may have released a brief glimpse of Alan Wake 2, as a in-development image in a presentation about their development tools.
Earlier today, Remedy posted shared a presentation about Universal Scene Description and its implementation into its development process and the studio’s proprietary engine, Northlight. At about four minutes into the video, the presenter shows off a picture of the Northlight engine editor. The image is bare and partially made up of the editing tools. At its center, though, is an image of a figure holding a gun in a large lobby area with a central staircase and a multitude of arches. The image is untextured, so there are almost no colors except various shades of gray and some orange outlines on the central character.
Reddit user Sir_Galehaut posted the image on the Alan Wake 2 subreddit, speculating that the image is part of the game. Predicting that Alan Wake II will place in an alternate version of New York City, they searched the file name displayed in the video, National Library, along with the city name. The first result was the primary branch of the New York City Public Library. The real-world location is similar to the one shown in the image, also featuring plenty of stone arches and similar globe lambs. As Sir_Galehaut pointed out, you might recognize the library from its appearance in Ghostbusters, or in few other films including The Thomas Crown Affair, Spider-Man, or 13 Going On 30.

Malware-based campaigns are turning into increasingly complex threats capable of targeting multiple devices and operating systems. Excellent indie horror game Mothered has a small sequel hiding in its demo
I only just realised, while mentioning the dev’s next game, that we never posted about excellent indie horror game Mothered. Not to be confused with the unrelated Remothered games, it’s the tale of a young girl returning home after surgery to find everything is weird and her mother is some sort of eerie mannequin. It might be my favourite horror game of 2021? Now’s a good time to raise Mothered because: 1) it finally has a demo for newcomers; 2) for veterans, that demo actually hides a secret expansion continuing the game’s story.
Dead by Daylight killer Michael Myers is hiding a very creepy secret
Dead by Daylight killer Michael Myers is creepy enough as it is. But one DBD fan has uncovered a secret that makes Mike even more menacing.
