Ultra-long YouTube highlight videos are ruining sports — and I’m fine with that
A few months ago, I discovered a new genre of YouTube video. It’s called the “extended highlight,” and it typically takes the form of a video somewhere between eight and 18 minutes long, with rapid-fire jump cuts between all the most important parts of a game.
Since I embraced the glory of the extended highlight, I feel like I’ve watched more sports than ever. I’ve seen every Arsenal goal and almost-goal, every cool Steph Curry shot for the Warriors, every Daniel Jones run for the Giants, every Aaron Judge strikeout or home run for the Yankees. But I rarely, if ever, sit and watch a game. I used to! But why would I now? All the good parts are right there on YouTube a few hours later.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 Battle Pass Rewards: All Skins, Emotes, And Highlight Intros
Overwatch 2 Season 4 has arrived, bringing a new hero, Lifeweaver, alongside some changes to the game, like the removal of map pools in Competitive Mode. In addition to these changes, the new content is a brand-new battle pass, featuring 80 tiers of rewards, including a mythical Sigma skin. This season’s battle pass is space opera-themed, offering up some cosmetics that wouldn’t look out of place in Star Wars. This ties into some skins that will be available later in the season and an upcoming event, Starwatch: Galactic Rescue. This includes the Galactic Emperor Sigma skin, the tier 80 reward, along with the Infinite Seer Mercy, Intergalactic Smuggler Ashe, and Extraterrestrial Winston.
Blizzard has announced two events for this season, Starwatch and a Pride event, with the latter kicking off in June, which is Pride month. In addition to this new content and upcoming events, Blizzard has made a few highly requested updates. On the Competitive front, rank decay has been removed, so players will no longer automatically drop to a lower rank at the start of the season. Season 4 also marks the removal of the map pool, no longer restricting which maps are available to be played on. Some smaller changes include a visible group skill rating for each time at the start of a competitive match and players can now see their own win-loss record for the mode.
There is also a new hero, Lifeweaver, a support hero who can grab teammates from a distance and pull them to safety. Like previous heroes, Lifeweaver is automatically unlocked with the premium version of the battle pass or at tier 45 of the free version. Lifeweaver will also be unavailable to play in Competitive for the first two weeks of the season, providing an opportunity to learn the hero in quick play before selecting him in a competitive match. Here’s everything you can unlock in the Overwatch Season 4 battle pass.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 Battle Pass Rewards: All Skins, Emotes, And Highlight Intros
Overwatch 2 Season 3 has arrived, bringing a brand-new Control map, myriad of hero changes, and a brand-new battle pass full of new cosmetics. While this season doesn’t include a new hero in the battle pass, this is the first season where the legacy Overwatch credits currency are included in the battle pass, letting players unlock older cosmetics from the original game. While the battle pass still doesn’t include the premium Overwatch coins, the free version of the battle pass includes 1,500 credits, with the premium version of the battle pass including an additional 500 credits.
Season 3 of Overwatch is themed around Japanese mythology, with the final reward in the premium battle pass being a mythical Kiriko skin based on Amaterasu. The battle pass also includes a legendary Reaper skin, legendary Moira skin, and a legendary Junkrat skin, all based on Japanese mythology. More skins based on this season’s theme will be available in the item shop throughout the season.
This season of Overwatch 2 also marks the first time the game will feature a crossover event with another IP, with a One Punch Man event starting on March 7. While Blizzard didn’t reveal everything that will be coming to Overwatch 2 as part of the crossover, the main cosmetic will be a Saitama One Punch Man skin for Doomfist. Blizzard also announced a Valentine’s Day event, which will coincide with an online dating sim game, where you can smooch your favorite heroes. Here’s every reward available in the Season 3 battle pass for Overwatch 2.
