I’m a master gardener – the surprising laundry staple that’s great for your plants, it’s how I keep my cabbage happy
INSTEAD of shelling out for expensive plant food this spring, take a shopping trip through your laundry room.
According to one expert, you might have a stockpile of just what your plants are craving this season.
On social media, master gardener Nikki Amore (@sow_viable) provides advice to fellow fans of at-home agriculture.
She shared one of her best-kept secrets in a video that brought viewers on a field trip to the cabbage patch.
If certain plants in your yard are failing to thrive, they could be suffering from a lack of nutrients, Amore explained.
If it’s boron they lack, the solution is probably in your home already.
“Boron is the second-most widespread micronutrient deficiency in soil,” Amore explained in a caption.
“Brassicas like cabbage have high boron requirements,” she added.
In a comment, she explained what to look for if you suspect a boron deficiency is impacting your garden.
“Boron deficiencies usually occur in sandy soil with low organic matter,” she wrote.
In cabbage, for example, a boron deficiency is often indicated by “small cabbage heads or yellowing of young leaves.”
“Leaves can also be curled down or deformed,” she warned.
Luckily, Amore continued, “I keep my cabbage plants happy with borax.”
The powerful cleansing agent is chock full of boron, and it’s safe to use outdoors.
“Borax can be used in the garden to fix a boron deficiency in your soil,” Amore said.
She demonstrated, mixing a tablespoon of borax into a gallon of water in her watering can.
Then, she took it outside, where her cabbage plants – already treated with the solution earlier in the season – were thriving.
You can even begin applying borax before you put seeds in the ground, she said.
“I start out adding a little borax in the soil when planting and one more time a few weeks before harvesting by water application,” she said.
Why You Should Stop Doing Laundry in Hot Water
Many are looking for ways to save money these days, and if you’re one of them, you might not expect one of the methods to be in your laundry room. But if you’re still washing clothes in hot water, you could accidentally be costing yourself more money.

In a recent post, she revealed how putting clothes on hangers before leaving them out on an airer can cut down on ironing.
The trick also means she can hang out more items on the clothes rack by spacing them out.
Liffie said: “My partner mentioned trying using hangers on the [clothes] horse.
“We’re a family of five so I’m constantly washing. I can fit more clothes on this way and they dry just as well.

“People commented concerned about stretching of clothes but I haven’t had that issue.
“I haven’t taken my iron out since using the hangers.”
Liffie’s method follows a trick shared by laundry expert and CEO of Laundryheap Deyan Dimitrov.

He revealed that while an iron requires heat and effort to get creases out of our clothes, you can actually get them out with zero effort and a couple of ice cubes.
Deyan says: “Ice cubes are the perfect solution to prevent creases in clothes.
“Place a few into your tumble dryer with your children’s school uniform.
“Run a standard cycle and your garments should emerge in pristine condition.”
If you don’t have a dryer, don’t sweat – use steam instead.
Deyan says: “Make use of a humid room in your home – search for a boiler room, airing cupboard or a recently used shower.

“Hang your school uniform in the room until the creases drop considerably, if not completely.
“This can take between 30 minutes to several hours.”
People are just realizing the easy way to collect & do laundry in your own home and hardly any effort is required
A NEW and easy way to collect and do laundry within homes has been gaining traction as more videos of the system are shared.
Known as the laundry jet, the hack has revolutionized the way people are doing their wash.
The laundry jet can be installed in homes to help with the process[/caption]
The vacuum-powered system can make it[/caption]
First invented with one-story homes in mind, the laundry jet is a system that is vacuum-powered.
The jet acts as a chute and moves laundry from any room in the house with an installed port to the laundry room.
The laundry jet defies the traditional norms of a chute because it doesn’t rely on the power of gravity.
Instead, the vacuum power will transport the clothes from anywhere in a home, regardless of the floor.

It works when a port is opened, activating the entire system.
Ports can be installed to be manual or automatic.
But the system turns off when the ports are closed, which helps save energy and power.
The system is reportedly as quiet as a whisper and won’t pose much of a distraction within a home.

Clean laundry can also be sent back through the jet if a return system is installed.
The laundry jet can transport clothes up to 200 feet, its website states.
It can also be adapted for use in industrial settings.
The laundry jet system can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $15,000, depending on how many ports and pipes are needed.
However, the price may vary – and may not include installation.
Sims 4 October bug laundry list includes werewolf bottom fury and even more incest
The Sims 4 always gets a few fun bugs to investigate in and around new content coming out (which is all the time), and The Sims 4 Werewolves is no exception. The laundry list of issues that the team are investigating this month has a raft of fun werewolf-centric bugs like humans being able to sniff each other, and a wolf getting mad that he’s the bottom (of the pack) even though he’s the alpha. The High School Years update from July is also facilitating accidental sibling incest, still, after one method of sibling highschool be-sandwiching was fixed in August. It appears to be an entrenched problem. Those kids must really like House Of The Dragon.
