Just in time for Star Wars Day, LEGO is gearing up to release its third X-Wing Starfighter build. Only this time, it’s bigger, better, and far more expensive than the previous two.

Lego 2K Drive has been officially revealed, offering up an open world brick-based racing game that lets you build your own cars.
After some rumours and leaks had circulated about a new Lego racing game, Visual Concepts has officially revealed Lego 2K Drive, which looks like a blend of Forza Horizon, Mario Kart, and obviously, actual Lego. That last point means that there’s plenty of customisation, as the reveal trailer shows you being able to build up your car to look however you like. The game apparently has more than 1000 pieces to build vehicles with, so it sounds like you’ll be able to make some pretty unique rides.
On the Forza side, Lego 2K Drive has a big open world for you to drive around and explore in (or completely wreck stuff, considering everything’s made out of Lego). It doesn’t seem like Forza is the only open world racing title that Lego 2K Drive is borrowing from. The trailer shows you’ll be able to seamlessly switch between cars and boats depending on the terrain, which reminds me of The Crew 2, though it doesn’t look like Lego 2K Drive will have planes necessarily.
After some early leaks these last few days, publisher 2K have officially announced Lego 2K Drive, an open-world racer that looks surprisingly awesome – if you’ll excuse the low-hanging adjective. The game features co-op, multiplayer modes, and the ability to transform between air and land vehicles, Team Sonic Racing-style. The downside? Its collection of pre-order bonuses probably needs a graph of some kind to understand.
If you like Lego and video games, it’s an exciting time. For the first time in years, it’s looking like we’re going to get a fairly large-budget, console-based Lego game that isn’t some sort of spin on the Traveler’s Tales formula perfected in Lego Star Wars and its kin. Not some mobile game, not a limited-scope indie-style effort like the excellent Lego Bricktales – but something mainstream, mass-market, and different.
If you’ve not been following the video game rumor circuit, this game is supposedly called Lego 2K Drive, and it’s basically been described as a ‘Mario Kart-style racer’ that also takes inspiration from the classic Lego Racing games of years gone by, of which there’s a few.
One prolific leaker (who generally specializes in reprinting things gleaned from media who have seen stuff under embargo but can’t keep their mouth shut) suggests that there’s a closed beta for the game, and screenshots have even leaked online. Lego has finally teased an announcement for later this week. The announcement features roads under construction and a logo of Octan Racing.

Lego teased a new Donkey Kong character figure during its Mario Day livestream. Not much is known about it–other than Donkey Kong having space for another Lego character to ride on his back–and more info, like pricing, will likely be available closer to summer.
Just from the teaser image, it looks like the Donkey Kong figure is similar in size to the electronic Mario figure (the one available in the Mario Starter Course kit).
In addition to Donkey Kong, Dry Bowser and his castle expansion was also announced by Lego. Dry Bowser’s kit ($110) will be available on August 1, and preorders are not available yet. Dry Bowser’s Castle Expansion kit features a little gym area and five Lego characters including a Dry Bowser, a Magmaargh, a Bone Piranha Plant, a Bone Goomba, and a Purple Toad.
