‘Destiny 2’ cheat maker AimJunkies claims Bungie hacked them
Destiny 2 developer Bungie has been on a legal spree recently: It sued one user over cheating and threats against its employees, as well as a YouTuber who issued nearly 100 false DMCA claims against other creators. But after suing the cheat developer AimJunkies last year, Bungie is now facing a countersuit. AimJunkies claims the developer illegally hacked an associate’s computer, reports TorrentFreak (via Kotaku). Additionally, they allege Bungie also violated the DMCA by breaking through that machine’s security.
Bungie’s current Limited Software License Agreement (LSLA) gives the company’s BattleEye software permission to scan computers for anti-cheat tools, but that wasn’t true back in 2019, when the alleged hack began. According to AimJunkie’s counter-suit, Bungie accessed a computer owned by its associate James May several times throughout 2019 and 2021. It goes on to allege that Bungie used information from those hacks to gather information about other potential suspects.
Phoenix Digital, the company behind AimJunkies, didn’t stop there. It also claims the Bungie violated its Terms of Service by buying AimJunkies’ software and reverse-engineering its source code. If this all sounds a bit ironic, that’s because Bungie accused the company of similar tactics in its original suit. James May and Phoenix Digital are demanding damages, as well as an end to any future hacks and DMCA breaches. We’ve asked Bungie for comment, and will update if we hear back.
Amazon’s $1.7 Billion Proposed Purchase of Roomba Maker Under FTC Investigation
The filing by iRobot said both companies would cooperate with the FTC’s investigation and expect to promptly reply to the FTC’s request. After an investigation, which typically takes up to a year, the FTC can sue to block a merger, seek concessions such as divestitures or decline to take action, allowing a deal to close. The FTC under Chairwoman Lina Khan is taking a skeptical view of acquisitions by technology giants, saying the deals often hurt competition and give the incumbent firms control over valuable consumer data. The agency recently sued to block Meta Platforms from acquiring Within Unlimited and its virtual-reality dedicated fitness app, Supernatural. Amazon says it has been “very good stewards of peoples’ data across all of our businesses” and that it isn’t acquiring iRobot to gather intelligence from inside customers’ homes. The Roomba is a consumer-oriented vacuum cleaner that collects data about its users’ homes using cameras, sensors, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The TikTok viral Dash mini waffle maker has a Halloween version — and the two-pack is only $16
Save 49%: Ring in the near start of spooky season with a two-pack of a Halloween themed Dash Mini Waffle Makers, on sale for only $15.40 at Amazon as of Sept. 19. Down $14.59 from its $30 MSRP, this deal basically gets you a whole waffle maker for free.
You know what’s better than mini waffles made from the TikTok viral Dash Mini Waffle Maker?
Spooky mini waffles made from a spooky Dash Mini Waffle Maker. As if the mere existence of a Halloween version of one of TikTok’s favorite kitchen appliances isn’t enough, you can grab the two-pack Halloween themed waffle maker for just $15.40 at Amazon.
That’s 49% off its $30 list price, and an especially excellent deal when you take into account that the standard Dash waffle maker is $13 for one. Personally, I’d probably prefer to eat skull waffles year-round anyways, but when it means basically getting an additional waffle maker for free, then I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t opt for the Halloween version.
And it’s not just skull or pumpkin-shaped waffles you can make. This waffle maker rose to TikTok fame for its versatility — people have made everything from cheesy garlic bread to breakfast sandwiches and quesadillas in the four-inch appliance.
Sure, it’s definitely not the most luxe kitchen device out there, but it’s cute, it’s convenient, and as of Sept. 19, it’s at a pretty unbeatable sale price.

Breach of Software Maker Used To Backdoor Ecommerce Servers
“We are still investigating how the attacker accessed our systems and are not currently sure whether it was via a server exploit or an application exploit,” Ben Tideswell, the lead developer at FishPig, wrote in an email. “As for the attack itself, we are quite used to seeing automated exploits of applications and perhaps that is how the attackers initially gained access to our system. Once inside though, they must have taken a manual approach to select where and how to place their exploit.”
FishPig is a seller of Magento-WordPress integrations. Magento is an open source e-commerce platform used for developing online marketplaces. The supply-chain attack only affects paid Magento 2 modules. Tideswell said the last software commit made to its servers that didn’t include the malicious code was made on August 6, making that the earliest possible date the breach likely occurred. Sansec, the security firm that discovered the breach and first reported it, said the intrusion began on or before August 19. Tideswell said FishPig has already “sent emails to everyone who has downloaded anything from FishPig.co.uk in the last 12 weeks alerting them to what’s happened.” Tideswell declined to say how many active installations of its paid software there are. This post indicates that the software has received more than 200,000 downloads, but the number of paid customers is smaller. In a disclosure published after the Sansec advisory, FishPig describes how the intruders pulled off the intrusion and remained hidden for so long.
